“We first learned about Oso Events in the summer of 2022 while remotely planning our California wedding from the East Coast. From the very first introductory call, they blew us away with their professionalism, punctuality, warmth, organization, and excellence. Without them, our wedding would not have been nearly as amazing as it was! They found us fantastic vendors in the Bay Area like the food, HMUA, DJ, and server staffing company, organized our wedding day schedule, held regular video calls with us, got quotes from vendors, kept track of our budget and payment schedule with weekly updates, arranged set-up of the ceremony and reception venue, made sure our vendors got day-of tips, and more! The only thing that could be improved is that there was a specific deadline for event liability insurance that I and the planning team all missed initially. No harm was done though! The mistake was caught in time before it affected the event, and all went well! Michelle and Raymundo excellently identified what our energy levels as a newlywed couple would be like in the week leading up to the big event, and the day of the actual wedding. Raymundo directed our impromptu ceremony rehearsal, helping our officiant and party mark their places and signaling where/when we should stand and walk. Michelle checked in with the bride and the groom consistently throughout the night of the reception, asking if we needed water, food, or other drinks since we were often distracted by the festivities. They maintained effective communication leading up to and on the day of the wedding. Their decorations at the ceremony and reception were absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. At the end of the night, they managed takedown, and made sure all of the personal decorative items and remembrance photos we brought were conveniently all in the same box for us to take home. Through the yearlong process of planning, they dealt with last-minute logistical changes with incredible poise, and truly grounded us, allowing us to enjoy the day with free minds. The team even accommodated two of our guests who tested positive for COVID last-minute by setting up a separate table for them in the outdoor venue. We couldn't recommend them more highly. Not to mention, their BobaHolics boba bar was a huge hit and the photo booth was a lot of fun. We got a lot of mileage out of the sustainable decor inventory, which prevented us from having tons of wedding stuff on hand that we'd accumulate and need to resell after. The entire range of services offered by Oso is incredibly helpful and will make any event an absolute hit. We have loved working with the team and we’re so grateful they decided to take us on as clients at the start of their wedding planning journey.”

At the end of the reception, Kimberly & Travis packed up all my items and they were so smooth at it, I didn’t even notice them while I was dancing with my friends! I also hired Kimberly’s Ever After Planning for content creation, and once everything was set up, Kimberly and Travis got so much footage of behind the scenes, the ceremony, and reception footage. I didn’t know if I wanted to spend the money on a videographer & hiring them for content creation was a happy medium. “Working with Blair was probably the best decision we made during the process of planning our wedding. My husband and I both work 9-5 corporate jobs, and we knew that we needed to bring someone onto our “wedding team” that would help keep us on track with all of the milestones during the wedding planning process. From the get-go, over our 15-month planning period, Blair was always transparent about timing and was a master of following up regarding timelines, without ever badgering us or coming across as controlling. She spent over an hour discussing budgets with us and our families early on, to make sure that everything we planned stayed in the budget range that we’d all agreed upon. This was especially helpful during our venue and vendor selection process. She helped us find that blew our socks off, and also found us the most wonderful florist (@thelocalpetaler) who was able to provide us way more bang for our buck than any florist we’d be able to find on our own - a huge advantage. While we had our venue already picked out, Blair was able to recommend a food and beverage package with an available catering company that fell delivered us fantastic food and a premium beverage package that fit our budget.   Leading up to the wedding, Blair was also a master in helping us coordinate our wedding day planning including family photos, transportation e.g. coordinating our bus between multiple hotels and the venue while making it easy for us to just focus on ourselves. The peace of mind that Blair brought us throughout the planning process, week of, and day of our wedding made having our wedding a cakewalk rather than a headache. Spending the money to hire Blair was the best decision we could’ve made for our wedding!”

About wedding planners

How much does a wedding planner cost?

On average, a full-service wedding planner can cost between $3,000 and $10,000. It depends on where you live and where you’re getting married. Planners in areas with high costs of living, like New York City and San Francisco, may charge upwards of $20,000. If you’re having a destination wedding, consider using a planner local to the area—you’ll avoid paying extra for travel, accommodations, and meals. Day-of coordinators cost less. They may have a flat fee between $1,000 and $5,000, or charge hourly. Always ask about pricing up front so nothing comes as a surprise later.

What do wedding planners do?

  Think of wedding planners as jack-of-all-trades experts when it comes to weddings. Many offer different levels of service to meet your needs. If you just want
  day-of coordination, for example, your planner will be there to make sure your ceremony and reception go off without a hitch. This may mean setting up vendors or directing your wedding party and guests to make sure everyone is where they need to be at the right time. On the other end of the spectrum, full-service planning may involve:

Should we get a wedding planner?

Planners are great resources and can make planning your wedding much less stressful. If you’ve got the budget, a wedding planner is well worth the investment. Planners offer different service levels at varying price points. Choose the amount of help and cost that makes the most sense for you. At the bare minimum, you need someone (hired or delegated) to help manage the event day-of so you will be able to enjoy yourselves without worrying about too many logistics. If you decide to enlist a friend or family member to take on this role, keep in mind that this person will need to prioritize your needs over their own, and will no longer be attending or enjoying the wedding simply as a guest.
