Though relatively young by mountain standards, it has been weathered by wind and water since a time only the earth remembers. Humans are estimated to have settled in the area around 10,000 years ago, after the Missoula Floods carved rivers into the valley. Over time, these first people became the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz), Yakama, Confederated Tribes of the Warm Siletz, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla. The land north of the Columbia River Gorge is their ancestral home. Wind Mountain carries significance to the Native Americans as a Spirit Quest destination and is home to a sacred archaeological site near the summit.

Non-profit community-owned and operated, OPC offers a year round rate of $1250 for a three-hour booking, including a one-hour rehearsal. Rae Loft is the perfect event space for any intimate to mid sized gathering, meeting, or celebration.
