Aside from my love for all-things-events-and-weddings, I am a cat mom, dog mom (to the best dog ever, truly), goofy type-A (yes, we exist). I love everything coffee, purple, and vintage; I almost never go somewhere without red lipstick. And you’ll probably see me somewhere in downtown Frederick at least twice a week. The SBD team has a team of Leads and Assistants of all backgrounds but we all share a love for logistics and supporting couples on their special day!
We really focus on the couples' concerns and want to make sure that we work within the planning method that makes you the most comfortable. The work we do with you for coordination starts 3 months out because in order for us to be experts on your epic day, we need to talk to you and your vendors about it while also helping you close out the last things on your list of to-dos. Based in Frederick, we specialize in Frederick-based weddings and vendor selection.

| Description | Includes coordination. This package has become super popular with clients needing just a little bit of guidance on things they've been struggling with or aren't sure of what they want to do. Couples will receive a planning checklist and guidance on the next steps! We can meet every month, or every other month and go over your SBD-provided checklist. What you're working on, what you should be working on, and how we can help! | Coordination and event management is perfect for the couple that has vendors selected. They just want to be able to have an organized day and be able to enjoy the celebration. SBD will start working with them and their vendors in the months leading up to the day, learning the important details and logistics necessary for fun and success. This includes providing a document checklist to finalize planning, timeline creation, and layouts! | Yes, we do micro weddings and elopements! The Best Decision We Made
Working with Sarah from Sleeping Bee Designs was an absolute joy from start to finish. From our very first conversation, she brought such calm, positive energy that immediately put us at ease. We hired her for wedding coordination, and she went far beyond what we ever expected. Sarah has an incredible gift for organization and attention to detail, but what really makes her special is the heart she puts into her work. She took the time to understand what was important to us and made sure every part of our day reflected that. She was always thinking ahead, handling every change or challenge with complete confidence and care. When our plans shifted and we added more guests, she kept everything perfectly on track. She worked so smoothly with our vendors and made sure every timeline and detail fell into place. On the wedding day, she ensured everything looked beautiful, especially our ceremony space, which she made absolutely stunning. One of the funniest and most memorable moments of the day was when she helped coordinate a surprise first look between my husband and my brother. It was such a fun, lighthearted moment that everyone loved, and Sarah handled it perfectly. She truly brought everything together in a way that let us fully relax and enjoy every second. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel so supported. She treated our wedding as if it were her own, and it showed in every detail. We are beyond grateful for Sarah and her amazing team at Sleeping Bee Designs. She is talented, thoughtful, and absolutely wonderful to work with. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more because of her. If you are lucky enough to have Sarah as your coordinator, you will be in the best hands possible. She is simply the best.
Hire SBD!
I'll first say that hiring Sleeping Bee Designs was the best money we spent on our wedding and best decision we made in our planning process. We primarily worked with Sarah and she was an absolute joy to work with! She had a professional, yet easygoing presence throughout what can be a stressful process, especially when our wedding party (really the groomsmen) were a bit of a handful. She was able to rein them in though! She was always incredibly responsive, super efficient, and gave us honest feedback at every turn, and probably did 100 other things behind the scenes that we'll never know about, but truly appreciate. There were only a few issues that popped up leading up to, or on the day-of- working with the florist to make sure she was able to set-up the reception in time, a last-minute problem with the chimney's for our taper candles, and forgetting the Tallit for our chuppah. With all of these, Sarah was able to immediately pivot to find a solution that we were happy with and kept in line with what we wanted out of out wedding day. There is a reason Sarah comes HIGHLY recommended from not just the Union Mills Public House team, but also from other vendors in the area. She truly helped make our day perfect and gave us the wedding of our dreams.
Wedding Whisperers
The Sleeping Bees team is amazing! I’m a pretty organized, type-A person and didn’t think having a day-of coordinator would be a huge deal, but it 100% made the biggest difference. There are so many things you simply don’t know if it’s your first time getting married, and this team does it every weekend (sometimes multiple times in one!). They know everything you don’t, and they think of everything you can’t. One of the best parts is that their support doesn’t just start on the wedding day; they really jump in about 60 days out. They helped us with timelines for vendors, determining the best layout for the space, and finalizing all those “small” details that don’t feel like too much…until you realize how many pile up in the last few weeks before a wedding. Sarah was especially helpful working with our venue, Union Mills. She does so many weddings there that she knew all the tips and tricks, which gave us so much peace of mind. Even beyond Union Mills, she literally knows everyone...if you’re having trouble getting a response from a vendor, she can just send a quick text and get things moving again. On the wedding day, Emily was our lead coordinator, and she was incredible. Our ceremony was off-site, and there were a few “cooks in the kitchen” at the church. Emily handled it perfectly, stepping in when needed, but also knowing when to let others take the lead. Several guests even commented on how professional and helpful she and her assistant coordinators were. Best of all, they kept checking in on us all evening, making sure we had everything we needed (including drinks and snacks!). They even checked on my SIL multiple times because I had mentioned she had a few food allergies. They truly went above and beyond! I cannot recommend this team enough, especially if you’re getting married in the Frederick area. They made all the difference in making our day run smoothly, and I can’t imagine doing it without them.
Oh what a night!
Sleeping Bee Designs was an outstanding wedding planning partner. From our first interaction with Sarah, she was incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, and organized, which allowed us to stress less throughout the entire planning process. On the day of our wedding, everything went seamlessly thanks to her team's incredible hard work and her organization. She had a great relationship with our venue and did a great job coordinating all of the vendors. We were able to fully enjoy our special day without having to worry about a single detail. Sleeping Bee Designs truly kept us on track in planning and ensured our wedding was a joyful, unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
