Renegade Outpost is a full service event planning and chef services company. We've been in business for 12 years and have been working with Thumbtack/Zola. We have been hired more than 400 times and have 250 5-star reviews. We offer logistical services as well as day/of coordination and securing rentals. Our "rolodex" includes many of the best vendors for all your event needs. Making your job easier is our highest priority. Wonderful food always begins with amazing ingredients, especially produce. We source directly from local farmers, we work with an organic butcher, a wild fish monger and importers of select cheese and specialty products.

Food is the heart of every catered event. We work with you and curate the menu based on seasonal delicious produce, expert preparation and beautiful presentation. The produce inspires us and we often build a dish around the vegetables. From plated dinners to high end cocktail events... from chef-manned stations to grazing tables... from fundraisers and galas to weddings and themed events, we have the professional staff to ensure your event runs smoothly. Chef Ellen was excellent! She and her team were all professional and took care of our event. Communication was on point and the food was delicious! I didn't have to worry about anything knowing her team was there to make us our our guests have a great time. Highly recommend!

Chef Ellen is truly one of a kind! We couldn’t be happier with our choice to use Renegade Outpost at our wedding this past September! Chef Ellen is amazing and truly cares about the entire event going well, not just the food. We thought we were throwing a curveball with our unique cocktail-style reception… 4 hours of continuous passed apps, grazing tables, and more. But Chef Ellen made it all look easy. She came to walkthroughs at our venue and helped us create the perfect custom menu for our day. She also had so many ideas to help us make the most of the space, ensure a good flow of the party, and more. Ellen’s prices are very fair and she will work within your budget. The passed apps were unreal (our guests are still raving about them) and the grazing table was absolutely gorgeous and constantly stocked. The whole team, from the cooks to the servers, was amazing: fast, friendly, and organized. If you’re looking for a caterer who can create a unique and delicious menu while bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience (Michelin-star experience, to boot!), we highly recommend Renegade Outpost. Chef Ellen helped make our day unforgettable!

Chef Ellen & her staff were amazing. My sisters & I were planning an 80th birthday dinner for 20-30 people at an AirBNB rental property we had never been to before and was 500 miles from our home. Chef Ellen's expertise and thoughtful consideration of numerous planning items we had not yet considered, helped us to plan a fantastic event. Working with Chef Ellen to develop our menu was a fun collaborative process and she was able to accomodate several allergy restrictions. Chef Ellen's food was delicious. We have some finicky eaters in our bunch and she did a wonderful job navigating several precise requests about food & meat preparations on the spot from the birthday guest. All our guests remarked on how wonderful the food was, but our greatest delight was how Chef Ellen and her staff incorporated the eager curiosity of our 4 kids age 5 -12. On the spot, Chef Ellen focused and incorporated their eager energy into circulating appetizers - teaching them precisely how to carefully carry each kind of tray and each type of appetizer. It was her willingness to incorporate the kids (we had not discussed or even imagined this until the kids invaded the kitchen!) in such a productive, educational, and thoughtful manner that had us & all our guests delighted. Our kids will carry this happy memory for a lifetime. We expected good food and we got it, but Chef Ellen also brought a kind spirit to our gathering that I believe is a truly rare find in this business. We could not recommend her food and her service more highly.

No. We pride ourselve in transparent pricing. There are no delivery,admin, cake cutting or other outrageous fees when you work with us.

Yes, we offer tastings for you and as many guests as you like starting at $300. There will be all the apps and 1 each of all the entrees but as many forks as you like. When you book us, the $150 will be credited to your total

Yes, our event minimum is $2000 for all weddings.

We recommend meeting twice. One meeting will focus on finalizing menus and headcount. One will be at the venue and cover day-of logistics.

We are full service. We will work with you to find options within your budget. If necessary, we can meet you at the rental place to plan your options

For summer and fall weddings, we recommend at least 2 months in advance, however if you wait that long, we will proably be booked. For other events, we only need 5 days notice

We serve NY, NJ, CT and PA. On occasion, we travel to other states. Staffing costs might increase based on distance,time and tolls. I, personally have done weddings outside the country

We can customize fully vegetarian or vegan menus. We can find outside vendors for individual kosher meals. We also can work with all types of severe allergies. We are industry professionals and take great care preserving your guests health and well being

We do not charge a cake cutting fee , admin fee, delivery fee or any other outrageous fee. We will cut and serve your wedding cake to your guests at no additional cost.
