Hiring Jessie Harris and Wildcrest Studios for my wedding was the single best decision I have ever made, except for marrying my husband. We had a small wedding, with a small budget, a very specific vision, no planner or coordinator, and no freaking clue what we were doing. From my first phone call with Jessie I knew that she was something special. She is experienced, organized, diligent, detail oriented, creative, kind, patient, and funny as heck. She truly listens to what you are hoping for and - somehow, despite all odds - she makes it happen. She LITERALLY threw off her shoes and climbed into Lake Michigan to get a shot of my husband and I on a dock at sunset. She kicked the groomsmen out of the area during our first touch because it was ruining the moment and I was too emotional and nervous to say anything. She drove across the state to shoot a pre-wedding reception for us. Alex, the second shooter, tied my husband’s bow tie for him before he walked down the aisle… and my brother’s… and my dad’s… and I’m pretty sure half the groomsmen’s bow ties too. She helped us create the timeline for our wedding day. She even gave us advice on what to pick for our first dance. And, to top it all off, she has provided us with the most unbelievable and stunning engagement, reception, and wedding day photos I could have imagined. “It is really hard for me to put into words just how amazing Katie and her husband Matt are. We found them through our friends who used them for their wedding. We knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, and our friends had attended one the year before in Jamaica which Katie and Matt photographed. Because of that wedding, they chose them to be their photographer for their wedding in Michigan. After we saw the photos from the destination wedding and our friend's engagement photos we knew they would be perfect for us. After we saw our friend's wedding photos we knew made the right choice. Katie and Matt from the beginning were super helpful and were incredibly integral on our wedding weekend and day. When they arrived in Mexico, they met up with us and started to work immediately. They came to our rehearsal helping us decide where to put our camera for filming the ceremony and other helpful advice for the day of. They helped find the PERFECT first look location. On the day of the wedding, Katie and Matt were energetic and came ready to help put us to ease. Katie and Matt just have a way of making you feel at ease and then make you look like models. They did a great combination of classic portraits but a lot of candid photos mixed in (which were my favorites). They stayed through the our whole reception and the photos we got look out of a bridal magazine. We had a secondary shoot the day after as a Trash the Dress photo shoot, and the sunset photos we got look like post cards. The only down side of using Katie and Matt is that they gave us too many photos we want to print and get framed! Book them for your destination wedding (or Michigan wedding) and you will absolutely be making the best decision!”

“Sophie was amazing from start to finish! In October 2024 we had our engagement session. It was great to connect with Sophie and get more of a vibe of her style. We were able to choose 2 locations that happened to be pretty far from each other, but both sentimental in their own ways! We also ended up including our kitty in engagement photos which Sophie was very excited and supportive of. We’re so grateful to have our kitty forever documented as an important part of our relationship! Sophie was so fun to work with and cemented our choice to choose her as our wedding photographer. Then in July 2025 we got to see Sophie again for our wedding day! She was great leading up to the day — helpful in so many ways and also was open to our needs and wants. On the day of the wedding, we met her second photographer who was also great! Obviously as the client we aren’t able to make decisions and final calls regarding the second photographer. However, Sophie is a great judge of character so I knew that her choice would make sense for our vibe — and it absolutely did! Our families and wedding party loved meeting and chatting with both Sophie and her 2nd. They were a welcome addition to our special day. Sophie also brought a digital camera so that my bridesmaids could also capture certain aspects of our day in fun-early-2000s-style photos! My girls LOVED this and we loved how quickly we got those photos back. As with any wedding day, ours was not without ‘hiccups’. Our major hiccup was the unpredictable rain that day! From getting caught in the rain to moving the ceremony inside last-minute, Sophie did a great job of rolling with the punches and working with all our vendors to ensure things went as smoothly as possible. As for the photos, we are in LOVE with how everything turned out. It was hard to only pick a few for this review! We were looking for bright and airy photos that were authentic to the real-life experience. We got exactly that! We were also pleased with the mix of candid photos and posed. Sophie made sure that we had the traditional moments captured and the authentic lived experiences forever documented. I would not hesitate to recommend Sophie or even hire her again! She continues to be a welcome addition to our loved ones and we can’t wait to follow her work for years to come.
