Cake Ann was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding! They were responsive, helpful, and highly communicative throughout the entire process. We had such a great experience having Kendra as our wedding photographer this August. She is so great at using her surroundings to create fun photo opportunities in the moment. In addition to our awesome portraits, we also snuck away during the reception to take some sunset pictures. The editing/lighting was perfect and were some of my favorite photos we took. For both the wedding and our engagement shoot, the outdoor pictures were fantastic and showed how talented she truly is. We are so thankful to Kendra for capturing such special memories. Choosing Cape Ann Weddings as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made!

The Atlantic Ocean Room at Elks Club at Bass Rocks provided a clean, pretty venue with a great view for our wedding. The events planner there was generally helpful when asked, but at times seemed to try to push her own agenda rather than fully listening to our preferences. Communication could lag at times, and I felt the team was a bit forgetful with information. However, the bar service was excellent, and overall the venue was easy to work with. While not perfect, it was a great location that worked well with our separate vendors.

Our wedding here was INCREDIBLE and I couldn't recommend it enough. Every single person we worked with was so helpful, kind, and thoughtful and made this process so easy for us. Every single detail was executed perfectly. Every interaction was professional, timely, and warm. For the whole year leading up to our wedding, we felt incredibly supported and cared for. I had so many questions, and the Willowdale team was so prompt, helpful, and kind in their responses. As for the actual wedding, it was a total dream. The food is actually the best food ever... wedding food or not. It's been two months and everyone is still talking about it. The space is GORGEOUS and feels intimate and special while still accommodating larger weddings. Our coordinator, Julia, and the team worked with the florist and all the decor we dropped off ahead of time to execute the design and vision better than I could ever dream up. I was truly shocked when seeing the space - the attention and care to detail was unparallel and so gorgeous. And the BEST PART... On the day of the wedding, there was absolutely nothing to think about or stress about because Julia had it all under control. She communicated throughout the evening and made everything flowed seamlessly. As a result, we really got to just enjoy every single moment of the best day of our lives. All in all... we highly recommend getting married here. I wish we could do it all again. Willowdale and the team are so special. THANK YOU!! PS - the cookies are the best ever.

We got married here on Sunday 9/29 and I really can’t say enough good things about this space. The team was great to work with and all of our guests were so impressed by the space because it’s not like anything else really. I LOVED having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one room because we wasted almost no part of our day shepherding folks from place to place. The caterer recommended to us, Premier, was also amazing and they were on it and had many great suggestions to make the day as great as possible as they work in the space often. If you want outdoor photos before we found two great little parks to work with and ended up doing our first look and family portraits at “Leather City Commons” which is a three minute drive down the street. Then the two of us walked the ten minute walk back to Olio from there and got some great photos by Peabody City Hall and there are truly a plethora of great brick walls to choose from for a good backdrop! For getting ready we stayed at the Bell Inn and Tavern and their team was also amazing! I got ready in a Junior King Suite my parents were staying in and their team flipped the bridal suite early (as they had a wedding party the night before) so we could do bridal portraits with the moms and my sister. My husband and I stayed there that night and the room is gorgeous. My only regret with that space is we didn’t stay longer because it was so beautiful!!! (And the room service food we ordered from the tavern for lunch was great!) Shout out specifically to Kelsey and Heather for all of their help. Logistically I was a little nervous about it being in Peabody as we live closer to Boston but parking is free on Sundays and folks could Uber easily to the venue. Many out of town folks loved being able to stay near Salem to make it a great weekend trip. Last, I cannot recommend enough having a day of coordinator. I know Sarah who runs Olio has her own planning company and would be amazing to work with. I was lucky enough to have an amazing coworker and friend who helped me out and I literally gave him a binder with everything and I did not stress about anything for the entire day. I did not see my cell phone or get asked a single logistics question all day and it was GLORIOUS. I think that covers everything and will absolutely update if I think of anything else that can help out future brides considering this great space!!!

Vinwood Caterers

5.0

  • Caterer
  • Serves Gloucester, MA

Vinwood Caterers is proud to be consistently recognized as the North Shore’s favored catering company. And for good reason. Vinwood’s Signature Style and polished service have been behind all of our sensational events, from simple to lavish, for over 40 years. Our philosophy is simple. Offer fresh, seasonal food at its finest and serve it with style and unparalleled attention. Vinwood custom designs every event and our menus are tailored to your tastes and vision. Our flawless execution, gorgeous presentation and unequaled value will ensure that your day will be spectacular.

TL;DR - when they say full-service, they mean full-service! Easily the best food and drink we (and most of our guests) have ever had at a wedding. The staff and especially our coordinator, Erica, were highly communicative, accommodating, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to make our wedding as great as it could have been! Well worth the price! It's worth noting that they were partnered with our venue, Olio Event Space in Peabody, MA, but I have little doubt that they'd do an excellent job just about anywhere else they're willing to go. We had first heard of Vinwood through our venue because they had specific requirements and a list of partnered vendors we more or less had to choose from without a ton of hassle. While this could have easily become a nightmare, nearly all doubt was washed away as soon as we attended a tasting they hosted. We got to experience firsthand how great their food and staff were before getting into the thick of things, and we were able to get a head start on picking entrees, hors d'oeuvres, linens, and chinaware while we were at the tasting. When we had to lock things in, Vinwood was willing and able to accommodate our handful of allergic/picky eaters and create a dessert spread (cookie, brownie, and ice cream sundae bar) for us because we didn't want a wedding cake. From there until the big day, they remained very communicative about what they needed from us and what we could expect from them throughout the process, even going so far as to help us map out the order of operations in the wedding! Finally, on the big day, Erica and her staff took care of us throughout and were all very kind and personable. They went above and beyond in helping us decorate and brighten up the space to make it perfect for us, and we were once again blown away by the service, food, and drinks. We had lots of comments during and after the wedding about how great the food and drinks were, too. They took care of everything in the table and chair setups/moves/breakdown with what Vinwood, the venue, and we provided, all in a timely manner. I'll never forget one of the staff stopping to let me know the bar was closing, and despite getting lost in conversation again and again, she personally brought over a drink for me with a wink and a smile when she saw me failing to get away. If you couldn't tell by now, I can't sing them enough praise - thank you, Vinwood!!

Erin Wholley Photography

  • Starts at $7,000
  • Serves Gloucester, MA

Visit my Instagram for contact info and more photography! — ErinWholleyPhotography • Weddings are a culmination of love, life, happiness, family history, commitment, art, and so much more. My love for photography and the importance it plays in remembering cherished moments spans decades. Photographs are one of the only tangible items you receive after your wedding day (aside from the memories) to help you relive this time for the rest of your days. I will hype you up all day long to make sure you are enjoying every aspect of your day with your partner— that’s truly what it’s all about!

Choosing Erin for our wedding was probably the best decision we made in the 2 1/2 years we spent engaged. The difference with Erin is that she’s not just another wedding vendor; she became part of our friend group and family. We loved her so much for our engagement photos that we flew her down to North Carolina for the weekend because we couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing our day. Erin goes above and beyond in every way and that’s simply because she cares. She was originally planning to join our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks to capture an hour or two, but she stayed the whole night. I’ve been in arguably too many weddings, and what sets Erin apart is that she doesn’t just take the classic posed shots and move on to the next. She focuses on the tiny little moments in-between each shot. One of the best pieces of advice she gave me was to stick by my husband, Tom, as much as possible. Because of that, the candid, emotional moments she captured are truly priceless and are my favorite photos! Perhaps too personal, but we both had major loses in our families right around the same time, and both before our own weddings. When it came time for our vows, having someone behind the camera (and even in front of it consoling us when we couldn’t stop crying - see photos attached) made a hard moment even more special. Erin isn’t just a photographer; she’s a friend, hype girl, and someone who will care about your wedding as much as you do. I recommend her to everyone I know.

From the moment we first reached out to the team at Long Hill, their communication was fast, helpful, hands-on and incredibly kind. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was like something out of a fairytale. The venue itself was a picturesque garden, with an ethereal, storybook feel that made our special day feel like it was straight out of a dream. The staff helped us navigate all the timing and logistics, and were especially thoughtful in how they handled the dynamics of our large, blended family. Helena, the event coordinator, was a true gem - she provided invaluable guidance on the floor plans and decor that helped bring our vision to life. From start to finish, the Long Hill team made our wedding day perfect, and I would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a truly magical experience.

I had my eye on The Grove at Briar Barn Inn since it was simply a blueprint on an Instagram post. From the start, I knew it was going to be where I would get married someday. There is just something so quintessentially charming about the post and beam restaurant and the quaint New England Inn. The entire experience working with The Grove was great. We picked December 8th for not only the idea of a winter wedding but also for the holiday decor and availability for our preferred vendors. They were flexible in putting together the details and stuck to all the outlined dates and deadlines. We were assigned our wedding coordinator, Jeannine, about six weeks out as they said, and we were able to have our wedding details meeting soon after. The payment portal was easy to use, and the planning pod was intuitive and a great spot to keep important details in order. Jeannine answered all my questions promptly, and in the week leading up to the wedding, she was available for us to drop off all the decor ahead of time and spent time reviewing our vision one last time. On the day of, she was present, available, and helpful. She was detailed and organized and never pushy. She let us have our day and was there to help transition to the different elements seamlessly, paying attention to all the details so we wouldn't have to. Our guests have had only positive things to say about the entire day from the incredible food and the overall atmosphere. The only critique I have of the entire experience is the check-in process at the Inn. We had a 20 room block and ended up with 29 of the 30 rooms booked by our guests. The Inn has a very strict 2pm early check-in for 50 fee or 3pm otherwise check-in. We had a Sunday wedding in December where we had a first look and formal portraits at 2pm before a 4:00 ceremony because of the early sunset. We weren't able to stay Saturday night due to another wedding buy-out. The Grove accommodated me by making the hospitality suite available for us to get ready in; however, the Inn did not accommodate the groom getting ready. We rented out the Silo/Library for 250 to try to have a space for the men to get ready, but they didn't set up the privacy screen and there were too many people milling around for him to get changed in the non-private space. After a lot of inquiry from our wedding coordinator, our officiant, and our makeup artist, they finally let him into the room at 1:45 for the additional 50, but at that point it was only enough time for him to drop his phone and wallet. He ended up changing in the single stall bathroom in the basement of the Inn, which is a nice bathroom of course, but we would have liked a little more flexibility for us to have 1 room with early check-in to give him a bit more privacy. Flipping one room early for the bride and groom doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the grand scheme of the day or even offering some alternatives - we likely would have paid for a full extra night even if we couldn't get into the room the night before just to have the spot, but they didn't give us any options to work with until 1:45 p.m. ahead of 2pm call time. My recommendation for future couples is to negotiate into the wedding contract for something ahead of time if you could potentially run into the same issue, especially if you're out of towners who don't have other options nearby.

DJ Shyne is the difference between a good wedding and a once-in-a-lifetime, next-level, unforgettable experience. Hiring him was the single best decision we made for our wedding. He is outstanding—a true artist in his craft. It’s so clear that he’s not only dedicated to his profession but also deeply loves what he does. We gave DJ Shyne what we thought was an impossible challenge: blend pop hits, Spanish tunes, emo throwbacks, Disney jams, booty-shaking hip hop, and a long list of theme songs from our favorite TV shows and movies (everything from The White Lotus to Saw). On top of that, we added a handful of random, deeply personal songs you’d never expect at a wedding. What happened? Not only did he execute this perfectly, but he became the catalyst for a wedding that felt curated exactly to US—spinning a history of us both as individuals and our journey together woven into a seamless soundtrack. His mixing was unique, unexpected, and so much fun. As the bride, there was no place I wanted to be except on that dance floor. Our guests went wild. Compliments poured in all night and days after. We got so many texts like, “BROOO your DJ?! ” that we started to lose count. But it wasn’t just about the music. From the very first Zoom, DJ Shyne radiated charisma and professionalism. He carried that positive energy into every planning meeting and right through the reception—he even gave our speakers personal pep talks before their toasts! And when it came to group dances, he did something I’ve never seen: he stepped onto the dance floor, mic in hand, and taught the moves live. Towards the end of the Cha Cha Slide, he started teaching the crowd the moves to the Cupid Shuffle so by the time it started they were already doing it!!! No confusion, no awkward guessing, just pure joy and inclusion. He quickly became the vendor we looked forward to meeting with most. We ended each Zoom call feeling assured, uplifted, and excited about the possibilities. Out of everyone we worked with, he was the best. It does not get better than DJ Shyne. He isn’t just the DJ your wedding needs, he’s the DJ your wedding deserves.

Kirsten is a wedding and couples photographer who believes the best moments are the ones you didn’t plan. My passion is capturing raw, authentic emotions and the fleeting, candid moments that make your day uniquely yours. I focus on creating an easy, relaxed atmosphere so you can truly be yourselves — laughing, connecting, and sharing intimate moments — all while I quietly document the love and joy unfolding around you.

Kirsten is incredible in her style, communication, and product quality. My family and I haven't stopped raving about the quick turnaround of completing our wedding photos, and how wonderfully she captured our day. I am becoming the annoying bride trying to show EVERYONE all the pictures! We truly haven't found a bad one yet! Kirsten was so flexible, balancing her photographic eye with our need for some traditional "group shots". She made our day perfect. Don't miss out on her talent!!

Paige and her assistant did a good job on my hair and makeup (and that of my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law), although communication was spotty and she did not budget enough time for everyone on the wedding day, leading my mom and mother-in-law to be twenty minutes late to the ceremony. But the price was reasonable compared to other vendors, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Hey there! My name is Marian. Part Norwegian and part American, I've been living and shooting in the greater Boston area for the last decade, capturing special moments for couples, restaurants, small businesses, families, and so much more!

Awarded Best of Zola
Marian has been the photographer for all of my family’s big life moments from weddings to maternity and newborn, most recently my wedding 10/25/25. She is a true professional - prepared, timely, personable, kind, communicative, skilled, and knowledgeable. We weren’t sure what to do in our portrait session, and Marian guided us through different poses and locations at our venue, scoping out where we needed to go for the right lighting. Photographers can be very expensive, especially for weddings, and I found her packages very reasonably priced, and her turnaround was incredible. 10/10 would recommend. Shawn and I love you, Marian!
