About this venue
Elegant plantings and cultivated grounds fill this public garden with vibrancy that's more than a century in the making. Long Hill is a property of The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. From 1916 to 1979, Long Hill was the summer home of noted author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, Ellery Sedgwick. He summered here with his first wife, Mabel Cabot Sedgwick, an accomplished horticulturist, gardener, and author of The Garden Month by Month, and his second wife, Marjorie Russell Sedgwick, a rare plants specialist—both of whom created a delightful, enchanting landscape, surrounded by more than 100 acres of woodland. Today, visitors delight in the beauty of Long Hill’s structured and naturalistic gardens as well as a network of woodland trails. A diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and distinctive perennial plants provide color during the growing season, peaking in May and June and providing structure and beauty throughout the year.

May wedding
Long Hill was like out of a fairy tale. Flowers and plants were all in bloom and our guests had a blast exploring the grounds during cocktail hour. We were also able to escape for a bit and take an evening stroll. Would absolutely recommend celebrating here!!

This venue was incredible - the space itself is gorgeous, and our venue coordinator, Helena, was communicative, prompt, professional, and accommodating. Working with her and her team was a delight before, during, and after our wedding.

From the moment we first reached out to the team at Long Hill, their communication was fast, helpful, hands-on and incredibly kind. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was like something out of a fairytale. The venue itself was a picturesque garden, with an ethereal, storybook feel that made our special day feel like it was straight out of a dream. The staff helped us navigate all the timing and logistics, and were especially thoughtful in how they handled the dynamics of our large, blended family. Helena, the event coordinator, was a true gem - she provided invaluable guidance on the floor plans and decor that helped bring our vision to life. From start to finish, the Long Hill team made our wedding day perfect, and I would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a truly magical experience.

Our wedding was more beautiful than I could've imagined. Everyone kept asking 'how did you find this place??' Amazing value for the price, and so so beautiful in the summertime! Communication was great. Quick responses! When it comes to the day of the wedding, Long Hill is a bit more hands off then a typical wedding venue would be. I would highly recommend having a third party coordinator day of. Although, the caterer did an amazing job of taking that role on. Overall amazing wedding and I'm so happy we went with Long Hill!
