Your hosts, Matt and KellyAnn, here! We met in San Diego and have always been drawn to saltwater. We left in the exploration of more things wild: mountains to climb, waters to kayak, trails to run, perspectives to encounter. We spent 3 years on the road, living out of our car and exploring North America’s public lands and communities, stumbling upon spaces, places, and people who inspired us and ultimately sharpened the pencil that created Salted Roots. Seward won our hearts, with mountains, the ocean, and a national park right in our backyard. Alaska is wild - wild enough for us vagabonds to settle down roots… and then naturally the idea for Salted Roots sprouted. We bought the land in 2017, were married there shortly after, and began throwing together our future plans for the project with close friends. Our community helped us clear the land, build our website and make our vision a reality.

Nestled on 10 peaceful acres in Wasilla, Alaska, Fireweed Meadows offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience—just a short drive from town, but surrounded by untouched natural beauty. Our venue features stunning mountain views, an enchanting wildflower meadow, and the kind of quiet that makes your wedding feel like a true escape. Whether you dream of a romantic rustic celebration or a sleek modern wedding, our space is designed to be as versatile as your vision. You’ll have access to a stylish indoor reception building, a variety of ceremony arches, curated décor options, and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces that look incredible in any season. Rain or shine, we’ve got you covered. Our fully enclosed venue includes luxurious bridal and groom suites for getting ready in comfort and style. Plus, with on-site cabins and RV hookups, you and your guests can turn your wedding into a full weekend experience—celebrating under the stars, or gathering by the fire.

We now offer a basic package which includes Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with honeymoon suite and Sunday until noon for clean up. Our Venue has: 3 lush green fields 2 garden areas, 1 with water feature Bridal bungalow with private restroom Grooms' quarters 2 gazebos 2 different styles of 360 chairs 20 custom crafted wooden 3'x8' tables 1 custom head table 2 arbors 3 indoor restrooms Ample off street parking Also included in the basic package is our 3,500 square foot Sperry sailcloth tent. Additional options include the Bridal bungalow as the honeymoon suite for an additional 95.00, a vintage trailer (2024) for 150.00 and 2 glamping tents at 125.00 per night. We also offer catering and custom wedding cake design by our award winning Chef and have packages to include rehearsal dinners, day of charcuterie boards and day after brunch baskets. Nestled in the heart of Glacier View, our venue showcases the breathtaking Matanuska Glacier and surrounding Chugach Mountains, making every moment feel magical. Our thoughtfully crafted packages let you exchange vows beside serene blue pools on the glacier, celebrate under an elegant event tent, or toast your love story by a crackling fire on the lodge lawn — all designed to highlight Alaska’s natural wonder while keeping your day seamless and stress-free.

The Chalet is located on the foothills of Hatcher Pass, with spectacular views of the Chugach Range, Knik Glacier, and the Mat-Su Valley. It features a 2300 square foot banquet hall with 25-foot-high cathedral ceiling, large windows, and a welcoming layout for up to 150 guests indoors, and two large outdoor spaces for larger events.
