When choosing vendors for my wedding in Girdwood, I felt overwhelmed by the options, the cost, and my relative lack of knowledge about florals, photography, decor, etc. Although my partner and I didn't have a specific vision of what we wanted our ceremony and reception spaces to look like, we knew what we wanted it to feel like: a cozy, intimate celebration amidst all of the beautiful colors of Alaska in the fall. Greta stuck out to me for her passion for growing and her incredible knowledge and respect for the land -- qualities that aligned so well with our desire for having a celebration that felt laid-back, organic, and unique to us and our space. In the months between signing our contract and the wedding itself, we decided to add two standalone pieces that we could move from the ceremony to the reception. As with the rest of our floral pieces, Greta was great at accommodating our budget without compromising on quality. Receiving my bouquet from Greta was one of the best surprises of my wedding day, because I couldn't wait to see what she had designed! From including her family in her work to giving thank you notes to the other vendors, Greta was incredibly kind and exactly the kind of person you want to work with. Thank you so much, Greta. I hope to get some more beautiful flowers from you in the future!

Honeybloom Floral Design

From an early age, I could often be found knee deep in mud & weeds. I spent my most memorable childhood summers exploring the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, gathering treasures under the shade of the oaks on my abuelita’s ranch. When I moved north to Alaska, my love for the natural world grew deeper still. I found myself out foraging food & flowers on our endless trails, returning home with basketfuls of lupine, fireweed, fern, & fritillaria. Designing floral vignettes became a creative outlet as I balanced a career working in nonprofits. I made the jump into full-time floral design 5 years ago & have never looked back!

Melissa is the best flower designer I have ever seen. Our goal was to create something unique and simple, something that really reflected the nature and beauty of Alaska and the wildlife center. Melissa took this vision and transformed the space into something truly extraordinary. The pictures speak for themselves. I have never seen a wedding reception like this and I don't know if I will again. Her understanding of different tones and textures added so much depth to our simple color palette. Her floral columns and beautiful bar display were simply inspired, and a highlight of the evening for our guests. She truly listened to us during the process and created a space that was unique and authentic to us, the flower newbs who knew nothing. And even more importantly, Melissa is a consummate professional, a kind and empathetic and beautiful soul, and an absolute rock - someone that you want to have in your corner during wedding planning. I am so grateful for Melissa's work, and for her friendship!

Yarrow & Co.

5.0

Anchorage, AK
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Alaska

As a born and raised Alaskan I have a deep love and respect for all things in nature. I grew up spending summers commercial fishing in Cook Inlet and foraging yarrow on the shores that I have the privilege to call home. My hope is to translate my love for adventure and the beautiful outdoors into my art by using foraged Alaskan blooms as well as locally sourced and grown florals as much as possible.

Yarrow & Co was truly a dream come true on our wedding day. Hannah is incredible and truly an angel on earth! She was so beyond easy to work with, and made our day so special with the floral decorations she created. Our wedding was not small, and there were multiple different center pieces, floor arrangements, bouquets, boutonniere's, corsages, etc. and Hannah created everything more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I shared a small vision of what I wanted, and she truly brought it all to life in the most perfect way. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE needs to use her for their floral needs. Our wedding day would not have been the same without her!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

Oklahoma City, OK
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Alaska

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Would highly recommend Flower Moxie! Mother of the bride who can’t keep her houseplants alive decided to take a risk with DIY bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. Could not have been happier. Flowers arrived right on time. I contacted Flower Moxie right away with a question on timing for unboxing. Alexa immediately responded and became our personal flower consultant for the next 4 days. She was professional and encouraging and FUN! I felt much more confident that we could create beautiful bouquets with her assistance. The educational videos on the website are so helpful and informative. I alerted her that just three of my stems arrived broken. Flower Moxie immediately posted a refund to my account so that I could replace those stems if I felt it necessary at a local store. I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. The bridesmaids and bride created their own bouquets the morning of the venue during hair and makeup. Was really fun for all of them and they were absolutely stunning! Don’t be afraid of DIY. If I could keep these alive and thriving - you can too! Flower Moxie (and Alexa) are great partners for your special day!!

The Faux Bouquets

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
I used The Faux Bouquets for my engagement party, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The faux floral arrangements were stunning and stayed perfectly in place all night. They matched the décor beautifully and added such an elegant touch to the event. Their team was amazing—so nice and responsive to all of my questions. I highly recommend them for any event!

Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!

Sarcasm & Sunshine Designs Flower Preservation

5.0

Harrisburg, PA
  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Alaska

Sarcasm & Sunshine Designs is comprised of two friends, turned business partners. We worked together for several years planning events and weddings, so we have a shared love of sparkle, flowers, coffee, and making beautiful memories! We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our growth as friends, mothers and confidants, than to combine our creativity and passions to create one of a kind items to brighten the days and lives of others. Our business, our products, and our partnership is all about balance, Contessa is the Sarcasm, Danielle is the Sunshine. Some days, we switch roles, but we think life is better with both!

Having my wedding flowers preserved was extremely important to me. To be able to keep something perfectly preserved that was so beautiful on my special day is unreal. Danielle is the kindest and easiest person to work with. She gets back to you within seconds and listens to any and every crazy request I had. Along with a tray, wine stopper, ornament, and book mark, Danielle was able to take part of my Mother’s wedding dress (that was wrapped around my bouquet) and preserve it in a jewelry box with my flowers. Let me tell you, the reaction my mom had on her face when I gave her that jewelry box was indescribable. If you are ever second guessing preserving your wedding flowers, this is your sign to do it. You won’t regret it! Sarcasm and Sunshine’s work is impeccable and I hope that others are able to have their flowers preserved with such care and precision as I was able to have mine.

Monarch & Marigold Studio
Dallas, TX
  • Serves Alaska

I'm a proud first-gen., Latina & Dallas native who finds joy in every facet of flowers. Growing up, my dad filled my childhood with gardening & my love for flowers sprouted there. In high school, I enrolled in Skyline's High School's floral design program in which my classmates & I learned floral designs basics + the business side of the flower industry. There, I would frequently compete against other high schools & received my Level 1 & 2 certifications by the TSFA. I founded La Fuente de Flores in 2019 & have rebranded as Monarch & Marigold Studio. I'm also a hobby flower grower so quite literally, I'm always surrounded by flowers.
