Coordinator perspective
The Retreat at Sugarhill was an incredible choice for the couples wedding venue. Their communication throughout the planning process was clear, productive, and amazing. The quality of their work and the overall value was gorgeous, spacious, and did i mention stunning. They were fabulous at communicating leading up to the day, and were extremely helpful on the day of the couples wedding. They truly went above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom got everything they wanted, and it turned out amazing. They were so easy to communicate with as a coordinator, making the entire experience seamless.

This wedding venue is just amazing! A truly gorgeous property outside, and beautiful venue building, both inside and out! Separate area for both the bride and groom (and bridesmaids and groomsmen) to get ready; separate bar area with an ice machine that will provide all the ice you need for a large size event; additional men's and ladies restrooms; outside covered patio area where you can setup a cocktail hour and/or hors d'oeuvres before the reception starts; an alcove for the DJ to setup; and plenty of floor space for lots of tables and a large sized dance area. But I think what truly sets this place apart from every other place we spoke to and visited is the owners - Crystal and Sean. From the first visit, they were extremely accommodating, open to any questions, suggestions, or whatever related to the services that came with the venue rental, contract details, or anything we thought of. Throughout the months and days leading up to my daughter's wedding, Crystal kept the lines of communication wide open and helped ensure everything was planned out and nailed down relative to tables, chairs, tablecloths, and so many other details... And then the event day came, and it had been raining all week, and it looked like it was going to be raining most of the day, possibly into the planned ceremony time itself. What should we do?? My daughter really wanted an outdoor ceremony (their location and setup for that is just beautiful, so I couldn't blame her). Rather than just shutting down that option, Crystal and Sean worked with us and we came up with a plan to take advantage of what looked like would be a short break in the rain a little later than we had initially planned to start the ceremony. We laid down tarps and put chairs out in anticipation, and when the rain stopped, lots of folks grabbed towels and started drying off the chairs. But even before that, as it was raining cats and dogs, Sean was ferrying people back and forth from the drop-off at the circle drive in front of the venue with a large umbrella to the covered patio walkway. And Crystal was following the remaining driver of the vehicle to the parking area in her own vehicle, waiting for them to park their car, and then picking them up in hers and taking them back to the front of the venue. Nobody asked them to do this - they came up with this idea and plan and executed it without any questions asked. Now that is ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! Sean and Crystal's venue is top notch to start with, but their extra care and service to make this a special day for my daughter (and all of us) is exactly why you should use them for your next wedding or event! Thank you guys so much for EVERYTHING you did for us this weekend! It will be a special memory that will be with us forever!

The Retreat at Sugarhill is absolutely stunning. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was the right place, but it still exceeded every expectation we had. The new bridal suite is beautiful, spacious, and perfect for a bridal party to get ready comfortably. They also have cabins available on-site, which are great for out-of-town guests or those who want to stay close by. In our case, the groomsmen stayed in a cabin the night before, and our bride and groom used a cabin on their wedding night, which made everything seamless and special. Crystal and Sean, the owners, are truly the most accommodating people we’ve ever met. If we had a vision, they brought it to life—always with a smile. It rained for most of our wedding day, but you would never have known it by how perfectly everything turned out. They went above and beyond to make sure the day was still everything we dreamed of. They handled vendor coordination on the day of the wedding, which allowed us, as the parents of the bride, to spend the day with our kids and not worry about last-minute details. The venue provides access to a décor room full of beautiful options, which saved us so much money and time. From booking to the moment we walked out the door after the wedding was over, they were only minutes away whenever we needed anything. Anytime we made a special request, their response was always something like, “We haven’t done that before, but let’s see how we can make it work.” If you’re looking for a venue that is breathtaking, flexible, deeply personal, and run by people who genuinely care about your day—The Retreat at Sugarhill is the place to be. 100% recommended!
