About this venue

Open Farmhouse is located on 300 acres of protected land in Redding, Connecticut. Just an hour and a half drive from New York City, it’s easily accessible by car or short shuttle from metro north. As part of a working farm, guests experience farm fresh produce, bucolic views and engagement with the land. Built in 1840, the historic Federal Style house sits at the center of the farm, with sweeping views of the surrounding fields and forests. Restored true to its era, it’s a grand yet inviting space for gatherings of 10 to 50 people. Five private bedrooms provide a good night’s sleep, with simple furnishings and comfortable mattresses. Three shared bathrooms allow everyone to get ready for the day. All linens and towels provided. Our vision is to create a place that fosters connection to the land, strengthens community, and plants seeds for cultural renewal.

The Farmhouse

The house, the grounds, the gorgeous garden truly created the perfect atmosphere for our special day.

Located just an hour and a half north of New York City, Open Farmhouse is very accessible, yet a world away. The large 1840’s farmhouse has been transformed into a warm and lively community space. Hold you ceremony in our bucolic front field or in the ballroom. Have your rehearsal dinner in the bar and and outdoor reception on our back patio with views of the kitchen garden. There is ample space for your guests to both explore the grounds and celebrate with you.
