Boasting a combined available 15,000 square feet across the building’s ceremony + reception area and adjacent mezzanines + dressing lounges, Fairlie provides tables + seating for up to 250 guests with an additional 10 cocktail tables available for use. Its interior space juxtaposes warm, exposed-brick walls, raw steel, and marbled concrete accents, creating a modern, yet timeless atmosphere.

Description

Our wedding rental package includes access to the space from 2p - 1:30am for all set up, event and breakdown needs. The space is staffed by a venue manager as well as security personnel at the door. Our rental also includes tables and seating for up to 250 (25 tables + 250 chairs) as well as 10 cocktail tables for the space. We are so grateful we had the Fairlie as our wedding venue. The entire team is amazing and so helpful. It is a stunning and reasonably priced location. We did not have a wedding planner nor coordinator and I feel that was possible because of the help of the great Fairlie team - Alison, Alexis, and Orlando were amazing. They helped us build out our day of timeline and helped so much with last minute items that came up. We had no clue who to choose as a caterer & it was great that their team requires you to work with one of their preferred caterers - we could not have been happier with the caterer we met because of the Fairlie. Because they do this - everything is seamless. Our guests could not stop commenting on how gorgeous of a venue the Fairlie is. Choose the Fairlie - it's the most beautiful venue in Chicago!
Beautiful Venue but Unprofessional Management

We are deeply frustrated and incredibly disappointed with our experience with Fairlie. From the moment we first saw the venue, we were absolutely in love with it—it’s a stunning space, and we knew without a doubt that it was where we wanted to get married. Sadly, all the effort and planning that went into our dream wedding was marred by an emergency evacuation and an even more troubling lack of accountability. On the night of our wedding in December 2024, the kitchen sprinkler system went off during dinner, forcing everyone to evacuate the venue. The fire department arrived, and although we were eventually let back in, parts of our dinner were ruined, we had to scramble to rearrange the evening, and the event space had flooding that needed to be cleaned up. We did everything in our power to maintain a positive atmosphere and still make the most of the night, but this incident was a major disruption. What made this situation exponentially worse was how Fairlie handled it—or rather, didn’t. No one from the venue reached out to us afterwards. Not a single person acknowledged what happened, let alone offered an apology until we proactively reached out to understand what happened. We’re reasonable people and all we wanted was some accountability, a simple “We’re sorry this happened.” Instead, when we did reach out, we received a shockingly unprofessional response that dismissed our concerns and suggested we were lucky that it wasn’t worse. It's worth noting, we used a preferred caterer, a company that has worked in the space countless times before without issue. Despite this, Fairlie claimed there was no way to determine what caused the sprinkler activation, so, conveniently, they were unwilling to admit fault. If that’s the level of responsibility they’re willing to take, how can anyone feel secure hosting their once-in-a-lifetime event there? Additionally, while our catering team and guests were helping clean up the water-damaged space, the on-site venue manager found it appropriate to take photos in our photo booth, showing a complete lack of awareness and professionalism. To this day, we have never received a follow-up or a proper response from Fairlie. The silence speaks volumes. We understand that accidents happen, but how a venue responds in the aftermath says everything about their values and commitment to their clients. Sadly, Fairlie showed us exactly who they are, and we would strongly caution others against booking this venue.

We absolutely loved having our wedding day at Fairlie and would have it there 100 times again. The beauty of this space is that you can really make it yours with whatever decor you choose to bring in. Alexis and Alex at Fairlie are incredibly easy to work with, super laid back, and are just as excited about your big day as you are. The romantic vibes that we got in this space at golden hour just elevated our wedding that much more, and the exposed brick really made this a unique venue for our city wedding. The curtains allow for an easy way to flip the space and also are just beautiful paired with the tall ceilings. Our guests loved how big the bar was because they felt there was never too long of a wait for a drink. So many good things to say — we love Fairlie so much!!!!

We can accommodate up to 250 guests for a ceremony + reception and up to 400 for a cocktail style event.

Our Venue Manager will be your main point of contact throughout your planning process, beginning with our initial visit, contract signing and through the day of your event and security deposit return.

Fairlie will clean the space before and after your event: sweeping, mopping, detailing the bathroom, and taking care of any necessary repairs. In order to get your full security deposit back, your hired staff must complete break down procedures provided at contract execution.

Yes. Our Venue Manager will be on-site during your event to direct and work with vendors, answer any questions, provide general assistance and oversee the facilities, but she will not coordinate your event. Your caterer may be able to provide coordination services, but we want to ensure that all clients have a designated planner/coordinator to manage the timeline of the event.

A 50% deposit of the rental fee is due at the time of booking. In addition, we require a $1000 security deposit, which is held through the event and returned, provided there are no damages or unauthorized overages. The remaining balance is due 1 month before the event date. Fairlie accepts cash, check, money order, and payment through online invoicing.

Your vendors gain access to Fairlie at 2:00pm on the day of your event unless otherwise arranged and approved. Additional time can be purchased.

Yes! Many couples use our private lounges to relax with their wedding parties before the main event, and some couples use them as a place to sneak away during the reception.

Yes, however all candles must be contained in votives. Open flames are not allowed anywhere in the building.

Yes. The Main floor of our space is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible – the additional space on the second floor mezzanine is only accessible via stair.

We require you to provide a certificate of insurance that covers your vendors. Your caterer may be able to add your vendors as additional insured to their policy. We require $1M general aggregate / $1M per occurrence including property damage

All beverage service at the Fairlie will be exclusively provided through your contracted full-service and fully licensed caterer. Your caterer must hold business licensing and a Chicago Caterer’s Liquor License.

Pups on leash are permitted in the space during the ceremony with prior approval. Following the ceremony the pet must be escorted out of the space for the remainder of the event.
