Every success story has its humble beginnings, and mine was no different. My entry into wedding planning kicked off in a hospitality business management class, where an offer from my professor led me to the world of wedding catering and bartending. This experience sparked a passion for event design, starting with small events and naturally progressing to weddings, where I found my true calling in creating unforgettable celebrations. What started as a one-woman show has blossomed into a badass team, dedicated to ditching the conventional and embracing, well, everything that you stand for as a couple.

Not LGBTQ friendly in our experience

As a gay couple, we trusted Tosha with our wedding, believing her to be LGBTQ-friendly. Over time, we noticed growing tension and resentment toward us, and by the end we were walking on eggshells. It really all came to a head after the wedding regarding our photos. For LGBTQ couples, sharing photos online can feel especially vulnerable. When I asked her to post from a selection of photos I was more comfortable with sharing, she refused, insisted she would post whatever and however she wanted, and then blocked me on social media. This not only felt violating but also terrifying, as we’re not publicly out to the world, and we’re just more private in general. (Yes, our contract with Tosha states that she can use our photos, but the language feels predatory when we signed the contract 1.5 years before the wedding and it was not something we were thinking about on this level, and we assumed in good faith that she would respect our wishes for more privacy that we made very clear throughout the entire planning process). We were initially not going to leave a review but after this situation we felt it was necessary to share with others. We want to move on, and just hope that Tosha finds it within her heart to respect our wishes. (I’d like to note that our photographer has been such a blessing and has been so understanding with us navigating this.)

Your wedding day — and everything leading up to it — should feel joyful, affirming, and safe, and I regret that you left the process feeling otherwise. When I received your message after the wedding saying, “Everything was perfect, we had an incredible time. We can’t thank you enough for everything!” — I understood that the planning process and the day itself had met your expectations. That made your later feedback especially important for me to hear. As someone who genuinely values creating an inclusive and respectful space for all couples, especially within the LGBTQ+ community, I take your words to heart. I always strive to lead with kindness and professionalism, and I’m truly sorry if my actions caused any discomfort or distress. After the wedding, I honored your request not to feature your partner’s face in any social media posts, and I have continued to respect that request. When an additional request was made several months later — asking for pre-approval of any photos shared, without a clear timeline — I explained that I was unable to accommodate it, as it fell outside the scope of our original agreement. I followed up with an email including a copy of our contract and an offer to discuss further. When I received a reply asking that I not reach out, and was later blocked on social media, I took that as a sign that you did not wish to continue communication. I respected that. While I regret that we weren’t able to find more mutual understanding in the end, I appreciate the time we spent working together and the trust you placed in me. Working with Tosha Chavez from Elevated Events by Tosha was one of the very best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, she was incredibly trustworthy, responsive, and organized; qualities that immediately put us at ease during such a busy and emotional time. She took the time to truly understand our vision and our budget, then personalized a vendor list that fit us perfectly. Her strong relationships with multiple vendors made the planning process so much smoother, and her constant reminders for payments and checklists kept us stress-free and on track. Beyond her professionalism, Tosha’s personality is simply amazing: warm, upbeat, and genuinely invested in making your day perfect. On our wedding day, she literally was on it every step of the way. Book Elevated Events by Tosha!! We used Tosha’s Wedding Management service and I genuinely don’t know if we would have had a wedding without her! She was encouraging, kept us on schedule, and suggested ideas to help tie everything together throughout the planning process. Tosha was timely and thoughtful in all our communications and was a joy to work with. Day-of, Tosha took the reins and executed our day flawlessly. She is the perfect mix of focused, energetic, and joyful - our family and wedding party looked to her for all direction and everyone was where they needed to be at the right time. We would rebook Tosha 100 times over!!

I have had the opportunity to work with Tosha at multiple weddings and she is incredible. As wedding vendors we get partnered up with new "teams" at every event and have to work together to ensure the couple has the best possible day and every time I see that Tosha is on the team I know we are in good hands. She's personable, organized, fun, and dedicated. She is the best!
