I took up photography at the ripe age of 11 with a Polaroid I borrowed from an aunt. It quickly became my sketchbook as I worked to capture stills of the world and people around me. Those images have continued to pay emotional dividends throughout my life, helping me better understand what I have now come to see through a new scope. They are grounding, melancholic, funny and beautiful. Some of my most cherished possessions.

Indigo West is a an organic, photojournalistic approach that honors the authentic candor of the moment. I aim to work with fun, minimal direction that taps into the natural dynamic of the couple and turns away from anything that feels forced or overly theatrical.

Choosing Daniel from Indigo West as our wedding photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made. From our first conversation, we loved his calm, thoughtful demeanor and his organic, artistic approach to capturing the day. His eye for composition and detail is exceptional and the photos truly tell a story. As a same-sex couple, we wanted someone who could move beyond traditional wedding clichés, capture the grandeur of our museum venue (complete with dinosaur skeletons) while making it feel intimate, and handle dark, dramatic spaces. Daniel did all of that and more. He captured the energy, emotion, laughter, and joy of the day beautifully. Daniel was efficient but never rushed. He was professional yet playful, and it felt like he immediately understood our dynamic as a couple and with our guests. We trusted his vision completely, and it absolutely shows in the photos. Most importantly, Daniel brought such a fun, relaxed energy—it never felt like he was just doing a job. We can’t recommend him enough.

Indigo West (Daniel) was the perfect wedding photographer for our special day. From the very first interaction, he was upfront, professional and incredibly knowledgeable about his craft. His unique ideas and clear passion for his work were evident throughout the process - he made my husband and I, who typically dislike taking a lot of photos, feel so comfortable in front of the camera. You could tell Daniel was having fun capturing all the special moments, and they brought everything that was needed and more to ensure our photos turned out beautifully. We are so excited to see the final results and would highly recommend Indigo West/Daniel to any couple looking for a talented, personable photographer to help make their wedding day unforgettable. He knew all the best spots in Downtown SD and risked his life to get the shot (literally was in the street at one point). We can't recommend enough.

We enjoyed the overall experience with Indigo West from the start. He understood our preference for mostly candid photography and he did mostly that, leaving us plenty of time to mingle with guests. The photos he did direct we also loved it was nice he kept that quick, which made it very easy for us! Very happy with this vendor!

Daniel was a pure joy to work with. Went above and beyond driving all over Santa Barbara for our wedding! We loved our photos and the experience with him so much. We hate having pictures taken and he made it feel so effortless. Look no further!!
