Hi, I’m Sarah-Pete Petersen (she/her), an award-winning, queer, wedding officiant and humanist celebrant. Through Sincerely Pete, I create custom, heartfelt, and inclusive ceremonies that reflect your love story, values, and vision. Whether you're planning a joyful elopement or a grand celebration, your ceremony will feel authentic, romantic, and completely you. I also offer script writing and coaching for loved ones officiating. If you want a ceremony that’s intentional, personal, and unforgettable—I’d be honored to work with you.

As a queer, award-winning humanist celebrant, I don’t use templates or scripts—I craft each ceremony from scratch, based on your story, your values, and your voice. License Signing

Description

License signings are for couples who want to be legally married —whether it’s before or after a "wedding" that is friend- or family-officiated, a destination wedding, or an elopement. If your chosen officiant isn’t licensed in Virginia, I can make it official. We'll meet at a convenient time, do a quick legal exchange, and I’ll file the paperwork with the court. No vows or witnesses are required, but we can include whatever feels right for you.

Ghost-Writing

Description

Sometimes couples choose to have a friend or family member officiate their ceremony. This can be beautiful, though often your officiant has never written or led a ceremony. I’ll meet with you (virtually or in person) to walk through the format, wording, and tips for a smooth, heartfelt experience. Together, we’ll draft and finalize a custom script that fits your style. Full Officiating

Description

I’ll help you craft a custom ceremony that reflects your story—incorporating readings, rituals, and personal elements. I assist with vow writing, marriage license guidance, and ceremony etiquette. On your wedding day, I’ll officiate and legally marry you. I can also attend your rehearsal, source any ceremony materials, and recommend trusted vendors like musicians and sound techs to ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
