Rie is a NYC/Long Island based makeup artist/hair stylist for Beauty, Fashion, Portrait Photography, and Weddings. ​ All the makeup products in Rie's kit are cruelty free. Rie's style is "Natural" and "Feel like yourself but better" makeup look!

Rie has always been really cautious about health and sanitation when applying makeup on clients and she is proudly certified by multiple disinfection and sanitation organizations. All her clients can be assured that they are safe and in good hands!! ​ Rie used to be a professional ballet dancer and has performed with companies in NYC and Canada. Rie enjoys being in nature, photography, and loves taking care of her many house plants. ​Rie also speaks fluent Japanese.

    I searched high & low for a hair & makeup artist in ONE. I magically stumbled up Rie through entertainment industry connections and friends. What she offered was right up my alley and price point. She was easy and straight forward, accommodating, personable, fun, TALENTED, and safe/hygienic. On a random and serendipitous note - we discovered a special mutual connection to the same small ballet school in a small Canadian town...out of ALL THE WORLD. Very cool. Very special. Additionally cementing how meaningful her support on our special day was.

    Rie did hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids for my wedding ceremony, and then my hair and makeup a few weeks later for my reception. She was absolutely fantastic in every way - she was communicative, professional, friendly, and so good at her job. I got so many compliments on both occasions and felt so beautiful. I was originally drawn to Rie because she uses a vegan/ cruelty-free kit (something that was important to me when looking for a HMUA) and am just so happy to have found her! I've already recommended her to a bunch of people!

    Rie was a lifesaver! I had initially reached out to a different vendor in September of 2024 and we had an ongoing conversation while I considered pricing through November. We had a verbal agreement to work together but before she sent me her contract she ghosted me. I thought it was because the holidays were coming up and we all get busy at the end of the year. But mid-January come along, I had not heard back, and I was a little over two months away from my wedding! I reached out to a ton of makeup artists, and Rie was among the first to respond. She was so understanding from the get-go and her kindness paired with her makeup style was what sold me! Immediately, I knew she was who I wanted to work for. Rie provided makeup services for me and five of my six bridesmaids by herself. She was even able to work with me to find time to do a makeup trial despite both our busy schedules (getting married in the off season I'm sure helped). She worked so efficiently and even finished before our scheduled time, and provided us all with little touch up kits. I tend to not wear too much makeup and the same goes for most of my bridesmaids, and Rie was able to take her "natural makeup" style and personalize it to everyone. I only wear makeup on special occasions, and when I do, I tend to be hyper aware of my face and the makeup on it. But Rie's application was so good, that I did not think about the makeup on my face once throughout the ten hour day. The natural makeup style might not be for everyone, the same way full glam is not for me, but if you lean that way, I highly recommend working with Rie!

    Rie and her team were absolutely incredible! Hair and makeup lasted for over 12 hours, even in high humidity outdoors and tons of dancing! Rie brings a calm but fun energy to the getting ready process. Also, Rie's communication is impeccable - emails are clear with quick responses. Hiring Rie and her team to be part of our day was a 10/10!
