With 15 years specializing in makeup and hair, every look is tailored to celebrate you. My promise is that I treat my clients as if it were my own wedding. While you gaze into the mirror looking your best, you are going to feel pampered and relaxed. My style is versatile to meet your needs. Melissa Formica is an incredible makeup artist and hair stylist. I had the good fortune of working with Melissa for my wedding in January 2025. From the first meeting at our makeup and hair trial, I appreciated Melissa’s affable and professional demeanor. Melissa was timely, organized, and easy to talk with. She created a comfortable space in which I felt at ease asking her to tweak aspects of my makeup and hair style. Additionally, she worked well with all of the women in my bridal party, who all complemented her skill and lovely personality. On the day of the wedding, due to the numbers in my bridal party, Melissa brought in another artist to assist with hair styling. This hair stylist was equally lovely and the quality of her work was also top notch. Having Melissa and her team as part of my wedding morning getting ready crew was fun and enjoyable! They blended in easily and navigated the little moments of hectic morning-of happenings professionally and with a smile on their face! I would highly recommend Melissa Formica for your next makeup and hair styling needs!

Melissa was absolutely delightful to work with for my wedding day hair and make-up, and I deeply valued the rapport we established upon meeting at the trial run. She was incredibly thoughtful and meticulous throughout the process and was able to bring my vision for both day and night looks, which included a traditional Hindu ceremony, together flawlessly. Melissa’s patience, professionalism, and warm energy provided me with great comfort on my wedding day; her work was perfect and photographed beautifully. I would be thrilled to work with Melissa again and highly recommend her for all occasions.

Melissa Formica Makeup & Hair was an absolute dream to work with for my wedding day - I worked with Toni specifically but know her entire team is fantastic! From our initial consultation to the day-of, their communication was always easy, on-time and professional. The quality of their work was truly incredible - my hair and makeup was the highest quality and worth every penny, even with the travel cost. Toni made the entire experience from the trial to the wedding weekend feel so special. I got so many compliments from my bridesmaids, who are still raving about how fantastic she is. I can't wait to use Toni again for any future beauty needs in the city. They were the best in the business and I'm so grateful they were a part of our special day.

Last month I got married at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island, and I had the pleasure of working with Jackie Fanara, an artist from Melissa’s makeup team. She was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish- it felt like hanging out with an old friend! She is so incredible at making her clients feel comfortable, listened to, and pampered. She went completely above and beyond- when the bridal party was finishing photos outside and it started pouring, she got SOAKED while shielding my bridesmaids and making sure everyone was able to get safely from the park to the vehicles to inside the venue. She literally used herself as a shield and then proceeded to to help everyone get touch ups while they dried off- by the time the ceremony had started, no one would have had an idea that everyone had been rained on. By the end of the day, she was everyone’s best friend. She was an angel that day and I am so thankful she was my artist. If you’re looking for an incredibly talented artist who will charm you with her positive attitude and incredible sense of humor- Jackie is your gal. Special shout out to Tressa, who did the makeup for my mother in law and few other people’s on my husband’s side of the family- they all loved her and said that she made them feel so special! And of course, shout out to Melissa for being lovely and communicative while setting me up with her team!
