While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. We'd recommend HiMotive to other couples looking for an energetic DJ.”

The month before the wedding we met with Martin and he gave feedback on songs/confirmed the vibe we were going for. Let me just say he absolutely knocked it out of the park!!! The dance floor was packed all night which was exactly what we wanted. Everyone has commented on how great he was, telling us that he was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding - we even had one couple go up to him before the exit asking if he would be open to playing at their wedding next year (HA!). We cannot recommend Martin enough!! He made our day so memorable not only for us, but our guests. He was one of the biggest highlights of our day by far.”

Our time has been so great with Ashlyn and her fun and bubbly personality really keeps the long days of photos light and carefree. We were kind of against doing engagement photos but after a couple of hours running around downtown Charleston and really getting to know her and feel more comfortable in front of the camera it did help tremendously on wedding day. Also, our engagement photos turned out AMAZING! Day of wedding, Ashlyn and her team were professional and on top of it. She got all the shots I wanted and more and our end result photos could not have turned out more perfect :) we are still in awe at the results. Not only do you get an amazing photographer and great photos but she is reasonably priced as well, perfect combination! 10/10 recommend! The building itself is gorgeous, with tall brick walls and dangling twinkle lights (which make every reception photo SPARKLE), with two floors of space to have a large OR a small event. The location is also incredible, walking distance to all of my favorite photo locations downtown, and directly across the street from a parking deck, which does not exist for most other venues downtown. Not only is the space stunning, but the staff really makes it what it is. Rachel will help you out from the beginning of planning your wedding all the way up to the wedding day, and the bar is one of the best in Wilmington. Excellent selection as well as a fully staffed bar (actually, two) so that your guests will never have to wait in line to get their drinks. Ironclad is the BEST!”

“I can't express how fantastic our wedding was at the Topsail Assembly Building! We wanted a venue that brought in our love for the coast along with a welcoming space to celebrate with our loved ones and dance til we dropped. Being in events myself, I knew I wanted a place with indoor/outdoor options, ample parking, a prep kitchen and areas for vendors - let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed! From start to finish, Stella responded quickly with our questions, helped us schedule venue visits, and is just an overall gem to be around. Their recommended vendors handled our day with accuracy and punctuality; our coordinator Valerie was phenomenal! Add in the incredible views no matter which direction you look, and the experience could not have more wonderful. 10/10, would party again!”
