Couples are often surprised by the amount of their budget spent on wedding flowers. Labor and variable wholesale costs add up quickly! To save, avoid anything that needs to be installed day-of and stick to “wear and carry.” This means the florist simply drops off the arrangements (bouquets, boutineers, centerpieces, etc.) at your venue for you to place yourselves. Something like a ceremony arch, by contrast, requires multiple people to set up and take down on site, often with a service charge of up to 40%. Talk openly with your florist about the look you want to achieve, rather than specific flowers you want. They can suggest flower species and options to make your vision happen in a way that fits your budget.

“I was so overwhelmed when I first started looking for florists for our wedding. There are so many options, and I didn’t even know where to start until I found Poppy. They break down the process and steps, making it super easy, almost to the point that it doesn’t feel real. To start, you meet with a floral consultant where you talk through your wedding details, the vibe you’re going for, the general needs, etc. Then they walk you through a list of various wedding floral options: bouquets, table arrangements, signage florals, ceremony florals, etc., and you start to narrow down what you want. In each section, they have a grouping of photos, and you can either select something from that or ask for more options. You can also tweak what they have shown (I picked florals that had eucalyptus in them and requested everything be switched to ruscus). After that, you have a while to go back in and adjust until a deadline, but they accommodated some last-minute adds I had as well. Our consultant was Sophia, and she was super responsive and wonderful to work with. Closer to the wedding, you get assigned a local florist who does the actual designing/styling and installing, and we were lucky enough to get Ron, who matched our inspo images EXACTLY. She worked within our budget to create the most beautiful arch florals and personals for the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres! Not only did our wedding party love the arrangements, also raved by the guests!!! During communications, I gave her a few ideas from Pinterest and she turned those into the most impressive custom arrangements that I couldn't be happier with as the outcome. It was also so appreciated with how prompt she was on timing for both the delivery to our hotel and set up at the venue! 10 Stars all the way for superb service and incredible detail that completely blossomed our special day!!!!
