2 Penguins Tap and Grill

5.0

Centennial, CO
  • Venue
  • Up to 600 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,000

2 Penguins is not your typical wedding location. We are a Taproom and Restaurant providing quality food, service and beverages. We were in the traditional wedding business under the umbrella business, Panache Catering, Inc, for over 30 years and left it because we eventually were worn out by what it had become. In that time we catered thousands of weddings. The expectations among a some groups of wedding families simply became impossible to meet. If you, too, are becoming worn out by what you are finding in the wedding industry you likely have found a great alternative at 2 Penguins.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Flexible event spaces
  • Full catering menu to choose from
  • Classic elegance

Venue considerations

  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
  • No free parking
  • Does not allow pets
Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot recommend Two Penguins highly enough! Kris and her entire team made our 130-guest wedding absolutely magical. The day before our wedding, rain was forecasted right when we had planned our patio ceremony. Kris walked us through indoor options with such calm confidence that we felt completely at ease about changing our plans. When torrential downpours hit during our actual ceremony time, we were so grateful for her foresight! She even handled last-minute adjustments to the guest entrance to keep everyone dry, all with complete professionalism. The entire team was phenomenal. They were friendly, efficient, and genuinely happy to be part of our celebration. The open bar service was top-notch, and all the food was incredible. Our guests are still raving about the mac and cheese, French fry bar, and Brussels sprouts. They were crowd favorites! The venue was ideal for our group, with plenty of room for guests to sit and visit while also having ample space for dancing. Since we got married on a Sunday, we had access to both the Fireplace room and the main bar area, which created the perfect layout for our reception. The team helped create that relaxed, joyful party atmosphere. Despite weather challenges, our wedding day was flawless. We received countless compliments from guests about the venue, food, and service. Thank you, Kris and team, for exceeding every expectation! I highly recommend Two Penguins to anyone wanting a fun, casual wedding with exceptional service, delicious food, and a team that genuinely cares about making your day beautiful.

I’ve been in the wedding flower world for almost two decades, which means I’ve seen every trend, every bouquet panic, and every last-minute flower emergency — and handled them all with floral finesse and a little sparkle. My style? Think whimsical, seasonal, and a little bit wild. I design wedding flowers that feel like you. Whether you're vibing with romantic mountain meadow or moody enchanted forest, I’m here to make it bloom. Based in Denver but always up for an adventure to Aspen, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, or Breck. Let’s make some magic — and throw in some peonies while we’re at it.

Zalea Flowers was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From our very first phone call, their communication was thorough, kind, and honest - they truly listened to our vision and provided thoughtful recommendations to bring it to life. The end result was a romantic, luxurious, and fun floral design that exceeded our expectations and was worth every penny. The gorgeous flowers they created for our Indian wedding in Vail were the perfect complement to the vibrant colors and intricate details of our celebration. LP Wedding Photography

5.0

Centennial, CO
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,400

Photography is my passion and my business. I started on my photography journey in high school using a film camera which quickly grew into a love for the art of capturing important moments in life. My passion and skill in wedding photography has grown immensely in the last decade, and I have had the opportunity to shoot in locations like Maui, Charleston and Cape Fear.

Lauren and her team at LP Wedding Photography were an absolute dream to work with! From the moment we first spoke, Lauren was so fun and so easy to work with - she really listened to what I wanted and knew exactly how to bring my vision to life. Her work is absolutely amazing, capturing all the special moments of our wedding day with such creativity and care. Lauren also did an incredible job with my boudoir photo shoot, and all of her photos turned out beautifully. On the day of the wedding, Lauren made everything so easy, taking charge when I was busy and making sure we got all the shots we needed. My husband was a bit hesitant about the photography part, but once we got our photos back, he loved them just as much as I did! I can't recommend LP Wedding Photography enough - you won't be disappointed!

Working with Shannon from SK Floral Design was such a wonderful experience. With having an elopement in the mountains I wasn’t sure what would be realistic for a wedding bouquet. Shannon gave such helpful insights into what flowers had the look I was hoping for, what would complement with our attire and what would last for a mountain elopement. I went back and forth if I wanted real flowers vs dried and Shannon sent over a mood board that was extremely helpful to visualize and make my decision! My bouquet of dried flowers was more beautiful than I could have imagined!! The bouquet held up all weekend. Driving to the mountains, hiking trails, and off-roading, ceremony and all. I even have it displayed in my home now! The dried bouquet made my elopement wedding day so beautiful and it is such a treat to still have a piece of my day with me! I highly recommend SK Florals. Price, quality and experience are worth every penny!

Hi, my name is Kimberly and I’m a witness and documenter of truth. I've specialized in Wedding & Portrait Photography for the last 10 years and am grateful to call in my full time career. I’ve been blessed with photographing over 180 weddings and it is truly the biggest honor to witness a wedding day and freeze it in time. In my free time my favorite thing to do is spend quality time with family, friends, and cats. I love adventuring with my husband and feel most at home being outdoors exploring new places.

I don’t think works can describe how instrumental Kimberly was to making our wedding planning and wedding day memorable. From our first phone call we instantly knew we found the right person. Our engagement pictures turned out better than we imagined and my boudoir shoot was the most empowering experience ever!! We both never take pictures so had anticipated this process to be uncomfortable, but had the complete opposite experience. She is now stuck with us for every major milestone! Not only did we have fun but truly felt that our personalities were captured and the joy she captured was palpable. This was the best investment we made to fully capture such a memorable!! Our guests also had nothing but positive things to say and echoed our sentiments on how enjoyable she made our day!

Music is fun. Music is community. Music is a language. Music is a gift. Each individual has incalculable worth independent of how they play. Wedlock Officiants

5.0

Centennial, CO
  • Officiant
  • Offers 10 ceremony types
  • Starts at $795

I've officiated weddings in all sorts of places around the world from Sweden to the Philippines. I've married over 1500 people over the past 10 years. I've worked at weddings with total budgets from $250 to $500,000. And while those facts may demonstrate my professionalism, frankly I think they are irrelevant. You can ignore all that because what's important at a ceremony isn't me, where I've been or what I've done. It's the two of you. Yes! YOU are the most important thing at your ceremony. Let me craft a story about your love. I do not discriminate and believe everyone can love whoever they want and that everyone deserves to be loved.

Scot was wonderful to work with. He had a thorough, friendly, and helpful communication style that put us at ease from the first consultation. He walked us through everything we needed to know about the ceremony, which was incredibly helpful since we had no idea what to expect. Scot was professional, thoughtful, and friendly approach was evident in how smoothly the ceremony went - we wish all our vendors had been as great as him. Scot also went the extra mile to make our family feel really welcome and comfortable. We are so grateful for what he did and highly recommend him. Tell him Alan & Trish sent you!

Dylan Burr, Wedding Photographer

5.0

Centennial, CO
  • Photographer
  • Starts at $3,200

Photography was always a passion but it didn’t really click (get it? Sorry, I’ll try to keep those jokes to a minimum) until my first daughter was born. Maybe I went a little overboard with the baby pics. But then a coworker, Michele, saw my passion and asked me to shoot her wedding (I’m not sure why she trusted me when I had no wedding experience, other than being at my own. Maybe she knew something I didn't yet…). That day changed my life.

Dylan is spectacular, a truly wonderful and talented human. He was helpful and kind as we prepared for our wedding and a total blast to work with on the big day. He was a natural working at the mountain venue we selected and skillfully navigated tricky light situations. He was our advocate and adventure buddy throughout the event, and the pictures (which he delivered quickly!) were stunning. We're already scheming up where we might go in the future for a vow renewal or anniversary celebration with Dylan as our photographer — 100% recommend!!

My husband and I were very happy to find photography in our budget through Yellow Paddle. I didn’t really interact with the company at all, but Mark and Santana were both excellent. Our primary photographer was Mark Whitrock. He did our engagement photos and our wedding. He suggested a beautiful location for our engagement photos and they turned out great. He used both film and digital which was not something we had an opinion on, but we really loved how the film ones turned out. Mark had good suggestions for posing and was also happy to try out our ideas. He was easy to get a hold of over text as well as having a phone call with us right before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page. He was respectful, approachable, timely and easy to work with. We love how the outdoor photos from our wedding turned out, they were true to life in style/color. He also caught some candid shots that I hadn’t thought of which were a nice surprise. Santana Garcia was our second shooter and his work is stunning. His editing style was not something I was particularly looking for but I’m in love with how the photos turned out. The style and lighting is beautiful and the vividness of red (our wedding color) still came through. I didn’t communicate with him directly before the wedding, but he was timely, easy to work with, and brought some of his own ideas which we appreciated. He caught detail shots at both the ceremony and the reception I hadn’t thought to ask for. Dancing was a big and important part of our reception and he did an amazing job capturing crisp, beautiful photos of people in motion in dimmer lighting. We had a panicked moment the night before where we realized we wanted the ceremony to be recorded (not edited or anything special, just captured) and Mark and Santana made it happen for us which was truly above and beyond their jobs and meant a lot to us.

Hiring Melissa made the lead-up and the day of our wedding flow so smoothly. I am grateful for her coordination and knowledge of the venue (Hudson Gardens) that allowed me and my groom to focus on ourselves and enjoy the wedding we had planned! Day-of she handled decor (see one of many shots of our tables that she did an incredible job with), vendor coordination, timeline communications with our wedding party, and more, to help make sure our day was perfect. Leading up to the wedding, she answered my (many) questions quickly with thoughtfulness and professionalism. I couldn't have had the wedding of our dreams go this smoothly without her! She made sure we ate (!!!), protected our time so we could have a first look, and got to our cocktail hour with enough time to greet our guests and celebrate!

This venue is beautiful!! We got married here in April (Mountainside ceremony, Colorado room cocktail hour and Albert’s lodge reception). It was the perfect Colorado backdrop for our out of town guests. The venue provides the chairs for ceremony, shuttle services between the ceremony and reception, and kept the fireplaces running throughout the night but the external vendors take care of pretty much everything else. Just remember that because of preferred/required vendors everything adds up quickly! We did have a great experience with all of the recommended and required vendors. The one thing I would have changed about the venue is if they could have opened the Colorado room wall/doors. It was 80 degrees but they don’t open them until after May 1.
