The Shire Cottage Bakery is a family-owned bakery that is the result of the hard work and determination of our baker, Jessie Kratz. After years of spoiling her husband Justin, and kids Cole, Ava, Zoe, and Lucas, with all kinds of delectable treats the time was right for her to further pursue her passion for baking.

Melissa Albano has been creating cakes for the last 30 years. It started with her watching her grandmother and being so intrigued she eventually started teaching herself the art of cake. She started out by making family cakes, eventually sharing them on social media. Within months a family business turned into a full time business. Cakes by Melissa has created artisinal cakes for the last 15 years. From H.S prom cupcakes, to a shed made for Tanglewood, to large corporate orders, to the most intricately designed wedding cake. It has been her passion for years, and shows in each and every cake or dessert she makes.

For me, my love for all things sweet started in the kitchen with my grandmother, making Italian cookies as a young girl. Marion's days as a toddler were her first in the kitchen, climbing to the countertop for culinary teachings from her grandmother Mamie Brougitte. Those lessons remain the main ingredient in what has turned into a married world of baking and art. Raised by artist parents in multicultural surroundings, Marion pulls her deepest inspiration from her roots. Whether that be the intricacies of delicate handmade French lace from her summers in France, to the bold Brazilian tiles of historic towns in Bahia where her father lived. Or even the refusal to use nothing but the best handmade ingredients from local produce makers.

My name is Michelle Cardillo and I am a self taught baker with a background in government. I moved here from the North Shore of Boston almost 7 years ago. My, then boyfriend, now husband convinced me to move back home with him to this place I honestly never heard of before, The Berkshires. With not a lot of need for a former lobbyist out here I quickly shifted my after work hobby into ShellyCakes.

Sugar Crystles is a wedding confectionery company in New Milford, CT. This budding bakery is owned and run by me, Crystle, and I am industry professional with years of cake-making in my repertoire. Owner Shauna Hinchen-Joyal studied pastry arts at Johnson and Wales University and has worked in the baking industry for over 20 years, making specialty event and wedding cakes as well as her signature pastries. Shauna and her husband and partner Bob have been trained by an expert baristas at Atomic Coffee Roasters and are proud to serve drinks brewed with their beans. All our espresso drinks are made with our gorgeous Italian made La Marzocco machine.

As a kid, while every other six year old was waking up to Saturday morning cartoons, I was immersed in the Food Network. From watching Martha Stewart whip up an Angel Food Cake to Sarah Lee making chocolate chip cookies, I was enamored. I would race to my parents kitchen, create some sort of concoction (usually involving chocolate) and have them taste test.
