The Soule House and Carriage Barn
Host to your distinctly memorable event.
The Soule House and Carriage Barn is located in the heart of Fairfield, Vermont; home to some of the largest maple sugaring operations in the state, birthplace of Chester A. Arthur (21st President), and where the cows outnumber the people. Fairfield truly is quintessential small town Vermont. This historic property has been known by a few different names over the years including the Barlow House and the Patton-Soule House. The house was originally built for Hubbard Barlow, a surveyor, speculator, and settler from Fairfield, Connecticut. The Vermont's Historical Registry notably gives the accolades to the house as being "one of the finest Federal style houses in Vermont." A.G. Soule, a local merchant and prominent man in town purchased the house in 1870. The house will remain in the Soule family from 1870-2014
