The Overlook Barn sits atop of Beech Mountain, NC and has expansive views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The barn itself spans over 6,500 square feet. When you walk in, you first are awestruck by the 30-foot arched ceilings with exposed wood beams. The Overlook Barn was fully renovated in 2015 with brides and grooms in mind. It is the epitome of rustic elegance. The Overlook Barn can accommodate over 250 guests for a seated dinner indoors and even more for a tented event.

In 2016, Cliffside Barn was renovated and added to the property's offerings. It has original wood floors, a striking chandelier, and a huge glass-paneled garage door that opens up to mountain views. It is a wonderful location for the ceremony or cocktail hour and can also be rented as a standalone rental on weekdays.

We seriously could not have had a better wedding day with Overlook Barn. From personalized notes from the owners on our wedding day, to the fantastic team members (we’re talking about you Abby & Taylor!) everything was picture perfect. So much planning, stress, and heart went into our wedding and we couldn’t be more grateful for Katie, David, & the Overlook Barn team. They were so kind when Helene postponed our plans and let us keep our date for the following year. We recommend Overlook Barn for ANYONE planning any kind of celebration!

Overlook Barn is such a stunning wedding venue — we immediately knew it was the one without ever visiting any others! The owners and staff were so kind and helpful from the very beginning. They were always there to answer all of my questions, shared a preferred vendor list (which was incredibly helpful), and guided us through every detail. Katie and David, the owners, went above and beyond — even writing us personal cards that they left in the bridal suite and polishing rooms, which was such a thoughtful touch! Not only does Overlook Barn have the most breathtaking views, but it also offers 3 venues in 1. We had our ceremony in Mary’s Meadow, our cocktail hour in the Cliffside Barn (which may have one of the best views you’ll ever see), and our reception in the main Overlook Barn. Each transition was seamless, thanks to the amazing staff and our coordinator. We truly couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Our guests were in awe of the beauty and charm of Overlook Barn, and we’re still getting compliments! Thank you, Overlook Barn, for helping make our perfect day come to life — there’s truly no better place to get married!

Overlook Barn in Banner Elk was the wedding venue of our dreams! Set on Beech Mountain, the views — especially from Mary’s Meadow, where we had our ceremony — were absolutely breathtaking. The beautifully refurbished horse barn added the perfect rustic charm, and we were able to truly make the reception space our own with florals and personal touches. It’s a venue that can bring any vision to life. The day-of coordinators were phenomenal — incredibly professional, organized, and supportive. Even our wedding planner couldn’t stop praising how seamless and helpful they were throughout the entire day. One of the highlights was their recommended vendor list — every vendor we chose was top-tier. Our caterer was phenomenal, and our florist brought the space to life in the most stunning way. Guests are still telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended! There were no hidden fees, no surprises — just a clean, professional, and personalized experience from start to finish. We wholeheartedly recommend Overlook Barn to any couple looking for a dream wedding venue.
