It's been almost a year since my daughter got married in this location. It was not great. The kitchen is not useable other than the sink. The oven doesn't work. The warmer doesn't work. She tells you this upfront but doesn't give viable solutions as to what to do when you need to keep something warm that won't work in a chafing dish all day- which to be honest, as someone who has planned many events is just not safe. Additionally, the kitchen was dirty the day of the wedding. She claims that she had it cleaned the day before. We found mice droppings in the kitchen. There were also 3 mice sightings during the wedding. We live in the woods as well. Keeping these under control is an active, at all times, task. The electrical didn't work. She said it was because we ran 2 crockpots. Keep in mind, no other actual kitchen appliances were running except the fridge (dirty). Our dj didn't even run lights because the power would not sustain it. I don't think it's too much to think that you'd be able to run similar voltage as your own home but we ran less. I mean, I can run an oven, a crockpot, dishwasher and the fridge in my own home. You'd think it should be similar. Nope. Speaking of the DJ- he is a family friend. He had never been there before and so I asked him candidly how he felt the venue stacked up to the other venues he's been at. He said he was shocked they passed inspection. The other issue is parking. They do not let you park close to the barn. Per them, it's so firetrucks have access. My dad is a retired firefighter and said the space we had available was plenty. The pot holes were so bad. My daughter and her husband left in a borrowed classic car and I was so worried they'd mess up the undercarriage. Supposedly, they were going to pave days after the wedding- still not sure why that meant pot holes were acceptable the day of an event. We also cleaned up. After trucks were loaded, we swept, put tables and chairs away and more. The kitchen was definitely more clean than when we got there. The owner was sick that day so she sent someone in her place. The only thing she did was help my kitchen coordinator put food out. Otherwise she watched videos on her laptop. All in all, it was a beautiful day. It's a stunning venue that at least on Jan. 4, 2025 needed some work.

Thank you for sharing your experience. While we are glad you ultimately felt it was a beautiful day, we feel it is important to clarify several inaccuracies in your review for future couples. First, our venue requires licensed, professional vendors, including DJs and caterers. This policy exists specifically to prevent the types of issues you encountered. Several services for this event were provided by family friends rather than licensed professionals, despite clear guidance in our contract and conversations. Regarding the electrical concerns: the DJ was operating an older sound system that required more wattage than a standard outlet supports. After we asked about the system’s requirements and one speaker was removed from the circuit, the issue was resolved and no further power interruptions occurred. Our electrical system has functioned reliably for hundreds of events and this was the only wedding to experience this issue, directly tied to equipment that exceeded standard requirements. We also ask that doors remain closed to prevent insects and debris from entering the building,. This guideline was not followed. Environmental factors caused by doors being left open are outside of our control. What was identified as “mouse droppings” were sparkler remnants, not animal waste. Buckets containing water and sparklers were placed in that area for guest use, which explains what was found. No evidence of rodents was present during setup or cleanup. Cooking or heating food on-site is not permitted. We do not offer a warmer, and crockpots or unlicensed food service are a direct breach of contract. The approved solution is to use a licensed caterer with appropriate equipment, which was declined. Under our policies, food service should not have continued in that manner. The kitchen was clean and you were there the night before, walked around and did not say one word about it not being clean. When you had your event and cooking was going on, it was a disaster. Again, the reason we tell our clients to use licensed caterers. Parking restrictions are not related to fire trucks, but rather to maintaining a safe drop-off and turnaround area for guests and vendor unloading. A shuttle service from the parking area was offered and available, but was not utilized. Our on-site staff member was present to assist throughout the event. She actively helped troubleshoot the DJ issue, assisted with food service when your family friend became overwhelmed, and was available for any additional concerns. Any issues could have been addressed directly with her at the time rather than after the event. Lastly, the driveway area referenced was scheduled to be paved the following day. This was communicated in advance, and the condition was temporary. We stand by our venue, our systems, and our policies, all of which exist to ensure a smooth and safe experience. When guidelines are followed and licensed professionals are used, events run seamlessly — as they have for countless weddings before and after yours. We wish your family the best and appreciate the opportunity to clarify these points for future couples.

We LOVED this venue! Everything was beautiful, there are lots of places for guests to hang out while the bridal party takes photos, and the coordinator is very attentive and knowledgeable! The only thing I would suggest is to have in person meetings to discuss plans and expectations rather than by email or text!
