Based on Chicago’s North Shore, The MK Collective is a husband-owned creative studio specializing in event planning, design, and handcrafted paper goods. Founded by Michael and Mitchell Koenig, our work blends artistry and organization to create meaningful celebrations. Every detail—from your invitations to your wedding day—reflects our shared passion for design, connection, and moments made with care.

Full-service planning is for couples who want expert guidance from “yes” to “I do.” We handle every detail — from venue selection and vendor management to design, timelines, and day-of coordination. Our goal is to bring your vision to life seamlessly, so you can relax and enjoy your engagement while we handle the rest. Pricing is customized based on your event’s size, scope, and specific needs.

Partial planning is perfect for couples who have the basics covered but want expert help pulling it all together. We’ll refine details, manage logistics, and ensure your vision comes to life seamlessly. Pricing is customized based on your event’s size, scope, and specific needs.

Day-of coordination is for couples who’ve planned it all and just need a trusted pro to run the show. We’ll step in about a month before your wedding to finalize details, confirm vendors, and manage the timeline so your day goes off without a hitch.     MK Collective was exceptional to work with for my son and daughter in law’s wedding. Their communication style was prompt, concise, and extremely well-organized from the start to the finish of the planning process. The quality of their work and the value they provided was second to none. The wedding day progressed smoothly from start to finish, thanks to their detailed itinerary that left no questions about where and when we needed to be for the entire weekend. Michael and Mitchell are well-seasoned professionals who planned every aspect of our event seamlessly. MK Collective is truly worth their weight in gold and I highly recommend Michael and Mitchell.

    I'll start by saying, Michael is the best around plain and simple. We used Michael to plan our wedding and from start to finish he made sure the process was as smooth as possible. Seemingly always available and consistently responsive, he makes it his mission to ensure you are well supported leading up to and on the wedding day. A wealth of knowledge, he uses his experience to recommend exceptional vendors and navigate all of the details and decisions that go into the planning process. I had worked with him once before in a wedding where I was in the bridal party, and knew we had to have him for ours. We also used Mitchell from MK Collective for our custom paper goods, and were very pleased with the results. We especially appreciated their guidance through the creative process. I think it's normal to struggle articulating your vision, but Mitchell is able to intuit your aesthetic and offer concepts to drive your vision forward. If you're looking for quality support, industry experience, and a hassle free wedding day I can't imagine you'd do much better than going with MK Collective. These guys are the best and my wife and I couldn't be more grateful for their help on our special day. Cheers!

    We were referred to Michael by my mother-in-law who had used him for my sister in law's wedding. We connected and I was immediately impressed by his responsiveness and helpfulness with the initial wedding planning process. We were engaged Dec 2024 and knew we wanted to be married the end of 2025. He guided us through the difficult process of securing a date with a venue on a very short timeline. After finding a venue, we then had to find our remaining vendors (florist, band, makeup, hair etc). Luckily, Michael connected us with vendors he had worked with in the past and we were able to get them for our October 25th wedding. Having to pick all of these all on our own would've have been stressful especially considering the quick timeline we were on. For the last ten months, we texted Michael almost every day to sort out details for the day of the wedding. There were dozens of meetings and calls in the last 2-3 months before the wedding. I had a bad experience with paper wedding invites and save the dates that were ordered through a wedding planning website. Michael and Mitchell thankfully provided this service for the wedding day paper goods. They designed and printed our place cards, programs, and cocktail napkins. We were so happy with how everything turned out!! Mitchell was there before we arrived to make sure the room was set up perfectly. Michael's services with wedding day coordination and scheduling were AMAZING. He kept the entire day on schedule and made sure everything went smoothly. We had a situation arise with the shuttle leaving guests behind that I mentioned to him. He called the transportation coordinator and had it immediately resolved. Please do yourself a favor and hire MK Collective. They are the BEST TEAM!!! THANK YOU MICHAEL AND MITCHELL!

Planning an October 25, 2025 wedding on a tight timeline isn’t easy—your trust made it possible to lock the venue and assemble a vendor team that fit your vision.
