I work with my clients to craft customized weddings that tap into the magic of your love story, align with your values, and deepen your connection to one another.

I believe the process of planning a wedding can in and of itself be a meaningful experience. I am a ceremonialist and wedding officiant in addition to a planner. I work with couples on an emotional, spiritual, and tangible level to create meaningful and bespoke weddings. I aim to connect couples to the right-of-passage of marriage and help strengthen the foundation of their future together through the process.

Mischa was the ultimate support as we prepared for our wedding. She helped us get really clear on what we wanted our wedding (and the days leading up to it) to be like, and what our priorities were. Then she recentered and refocused us back to those things as we got distracted by 'shiny objects' or other people's perspectives. She kept us grounded and connected throughout the process. We are so so so incredibly grateful to have had her in our corner. I can't imagine having our wedding without her -- our wedding was imbued with meaning because of her guidance and support. Hire Mischa!

Literally do not have words for the professionalism, attentiveness, care & love that pours out from Mischa and her team. I have worked with many planners (as a wedding florist myself) but there is an extra je ne sais quoi that Mischa harnesses and provides for her couples that is just beyond special. You can trust that by hiring Midnight Picnic, everything is going to run smoothly, your vendors will be well informed, your guests will be treated like royalty and you, as the couple (or host) will be able to enjoy your event with full presence. Mischa was an absolute dream to work with as our wedding planner. She is so thoughtful, open & easy to work with. We really wanted a meaningful ceremony that felt true to us, was deeply ritualistic and connected to nature, and yet not religious or too gendered/ traditional. Further, our officiant is originally not from the United States, and wedding culture is quite different in her home country- we wanted to best support her to confidently create and deliver a ceremony that would seal our marriage. Mischa walked us through every step with kindness and patience, offering great ideas but mostly, prompting us with ideas, structure, and thoughtful questions to encourage us to think outside the box to create a meaningful ceremony. The result was a ceremony that many people said was one of their favorite parts of the day- and for us, too! We will never forget how sacred that moment felt, and guests came up to us after and told us they had never seen a ceremony like it- that it was unique to us, exactly what we wanted! Mischa also helped us set up the day of and has a great eye- was able to execute our vision with elegance!

I plan bespoke events of all types, including additional wedding events. I can also do engagement parties, vow renewals, showers, baby blessing ways, bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate events, retreats, etc. The possibilities are infinite.

Absolutely not! Most of my couples end up hiring me for multi-day weddings to support all wedding weekend events. I limit my schedule to 2 weddings per month to ensure plenty of time in the last weeks leading up to each couple's wedding to be on-call.

You will be working with me on all of the planning sessions, but I have a team for wedding management. I will always be on site if hired as your full service or partial wedding planner. Depending on the scope of work for wedding management, I may send some of my highly skilled production assistants in my place -- but I always discuss this with clients in advance and loop my assistants into the planning in the final weeks before the wedding.

We schedule a vision mapping session to go over your dream ceremony, discuss the details of the venue, talk about your families, and identify your core values around marriage. Over the course of 5-8 sessions (depending on the scope), we co-create a custom ceremony unique to your partnership! I can then officiate the special day or help pass along the format/structure to a beloved friend or family member you've chosen to officiate. Get in touch for more information.

My starting rate for day-of coordination or officiant services is $1800. I do offer some a la carte services for less, which include : visioning sessions to get your planning started, support with aspects of the planning, ceremony creation, and pre-marriage coaching. Most of these are virtual. For weddings within Santa Cruz County, I may be able to offer lower pricing depending on the scope of work required and location.
