I’m Marielys (Mari), founder of Elle Events. I plan and design vibrant, elegant, and inclusive weddings in DC and beyond, always with a focus on meaningful details and guest-centered experiences. From full-service planning to wedding day management (aka day-of coordination), I offer expert guidance, clear communication, and a creative eye to bring your vision to life. As a native Spanish speaker and lover of culture, I specialize in celebrations that reflect your story and honor what matters most.
We embody people-first, detail-driven approach to planning. With nearly 20 years of leadership experience, our team blends strategy, creativity, and calm execution to craft events that feel intentional, polished and inclusive. From guest experience to vendor management, we value clarity, care, and cultural fluency—delivering wedding celebrations that are elegant, meaningful, and deeply personal. The absolute best!
We require a day-of coordinator for all of our weddings at BIG Cork Vineyards. Mari is always an absolute delight, and we highly recommend her services! If you are looking for someone thorough, prompt, professional, and extremely easy going, she is your girl! Mari ensures your day is seamless so you and your guests can sit back and enjoy all of the special moments. We always look forward to having Mari and her team on site to execute your BIG day. Very Happy
Wow! Mari and Kat are wonderful. They made our wedding week and wedding day seamless, beautiful, and fun. They made sure every last detail went according to plan. Kat did an especially good job with the rehearsal, which led to an absolutely perfect ceremony. And at the end of the night, all of the leftover food, our items, everything was packed and ready to go. I highly recommend!
A Perfect Fit!
Mari is IT. My husband and I met with a handful of coordinators who all seemed qualified and capable, but none that seemed to vibe with our energy UNTIL we met Mari! Right away she was calming and tuned in and warm. She felt like someone we would hang out with but then make that person an organizational wizard.As first time wedders, who had never imagined a specific wedding day aesthetic or theme, we would frequently worry this whole thing might not come together. But IT DID under Mari's expert guidance! And not only was it a big success (imo) she also never made us feel dumb or wrong or like bad engaged people for breaking tradition or for asking if we need Welcome signs. Mari was very good about holding us to our deadlines but not hounding us. When we felt like we were months behind she assured us we were in a good place.And then the day of the wedding, Mari and Anjeanette, were like the 1992 US Men's Olympic basketball team! Just two pros moving seamlessly, never missing. If we had a question, they had the answer before we asked. I always wondered how weddings happen without the bride and groom being pulled in every direction. Elle Events is how.
Mari did a beautiful job!
Mari did an incredible job with our wedding! We hired her for coordination services. She handled vendor communication in the run-up to the event (including confirming plans with each vendor when details were changed), made everything go smoothly and perfectly on the day itself, and even packed up the extra alcohol for us to pick up the next day. She oversaw the set-up and clean-up with our DJ, florist, caterer, etc., and she came to our rehearsal to go over details with our officiant. She made everything worry-free, and we had a really beautiful wedding. I can't say enough about how great she was. Very happy we hired Elle Events, and highly recommend them to others!
