Shaun Baker is San Diego’s Premier Wedding Photographer. Shaun grew up studying film/television and the art of story telling. “I love people and I am fascinated by the way we interact. I love the stories that each of us carry around. That’s what makes us all great. I have a need to capture the individuals raw emotions and give it back in a beautiful way. “When the camera is in my hand, normalcy is the furthest thing from my mind. It is normal for me to be in a tree, on a rooftop, or laying on the ground during a wedding so I am always in the best position to get the most creative shot possible. I'm always striving to exceed expectations.

I am an artistic documentary photographer. I specialize in capturing moments and beautiful portraits. I am extremely excited to announce that I am currently ranked the #1 Wedding photographer in San Diego according to WPJA, (Wedding Photojournalism Association), MyWed and many more. I photograph using two cameras. Moments are SO precious and I want to make sure that capture them. I take roughly 10,000 photographs on a wedding day to accomplish this. I don't just take one photograph when the moment is happening. I photograph through the moment at 10 frames per second to make sure I nail it!

    Shaun takes the most gorgeous photos while capturing the authenticity and emotion behind the wedding day! After being part of several wedding parties with overly-posed photos, we knew we wanted a photographer who captures the real moments, facial expressions, and joy of a wedding day. Shaun did all of that and more! The photos turned out absolutely incredible, he has an amazing personality and has a way to put anyone in front of the camera at ease. Not only that, half the time we forgot the cameras were even there, which meant we got to be in the moment at our wedding and soak it all in. Now the only problem is figuring out which of the photos to print as canvas wall art because there are so many good ones!

    My family has always cherished photos, so I placed a lot of importance on hiring an ace-level photographer for our wedding. And the first time I came across Shaun’s photos online I literally gasped out loud at his stunning work. He truly captured the couples’ and guests’ emotions—and he did the same for ours. Shaun and his partner Annie, of course, took the pre-planned photos we had asked for, but the joy was in the unstaged moments they captured. The photos of our mothers hugging with tears in their eyes, of my grandma dancing and whooping with my friends at the reception, of my now-husband kissing my forehead during our first dance…. they captured moments and emotions we didn’t see or realize were happening that day the first time around, and their work is priceless to us. They put our families at ease with their humor and professionalism, and it was fun to watch them come up with creative ways to capture moments, but it never felt intrusive. Shaun and Annie also completed our photo editing in a fraction of the time that was agreed to in the contract, and sweetened the (short) waiting period with a handful of sneak-peek photos, as well as a 10 minute video slideshow of some of the best photos set to music. It was a lovely way to share memories of the day with friends and family who couldn’t make it and wanted to feel a part of the event. We would recommend them to anyone.
