I’m an Asheville-based photographer and lover of the great outdoors, fresh ground coffee beans, flannel + fall, and going on adrenaline based adventures. I'm like a best friend with a camera, or the guest you didnt invite but glad I showed up. You'll feel completely comfortable and natural throughout the wedding day. No stress, no pressure.

My commitment to my couples, use of creative lighting, impossibly fast turnaround time, and communication are what my couples love about working with me! For me a wedding day isn't just about capturing beautiful images, it's about telling a story. Your story! I want you to be able to look back on your images for years to come and be transported in time to exactly how you felt on that day. This means capturing all the little in between moments as well!

Memorable Moments for a Lifetime!

If we could give more than 5 stars to Michael, we would. Michael is an amazing photographer and beyond that just a genuine amazing human being. When we first started looking for a photographer, we both went into it knowing that we are both incredibly awkward people when asked to pose. With this in mind, we started the big search - the one that everyone reminds you that will tell your stories for years. Enter finding Michael - his website mentioned candidness, and a documentary type of style. Two things that immediately caught our eye - not to mention looking through his previous work- which is just unbelievable! Throughout the year leading up to the wedding, Michael was incredibly helpful. He answered any questions we had and offered super helpful suggestions when figuring out the flow of the day. One tidbit that I would recommend to any bride is work with your photographer to create that timeline - a tidbit from Michael. He also managed to have a blog post for every type of question I had (and I had a lot LOL). A few weeks prior to the wedding, Michael met with us via zoom to go over the different elements of our days and to go over our family list (which was insanely helpful day of because we were able to knock those out)! When our wedding day arrived, he was there early to get everything set up and his presence just put everyone at ease. It felt like someone who had been part of our family friends rather than a wedding vendor - which was another element that was important to us: good vibes! Our wedding day and the pictures felt just like us - entertaining and full of laughter. We hiked through some trails for our first look, walked along a highway, and climbed rocks- which lead to nothing but new memories and lots of giggles. We both were really nervous about taking the posed pics but Michael put us in our natural element and just focused on capturing our story, which was a trend all throughout the day. None of us will ever forget the fact we forgot to tell him we had a 6 foot hoagie at the ceremony. We also had a blast using bubble guns for a photo op fake exit and learned there is such a thing as too many bubbles! Within a day after the wedding, we had a sneak peek - and we generally could not believe how AMAZING our photos turned out. It’s still surreal that we could look that good in photos, he captured exactly what we were hoping -us having the time of our life and starting our life together as husband and wife. CANNOT RECOMMEND HIM ENOUGH! P.S. Plus how awesome is it when your vendors are so cool that they feel like friends by the end of the wedding so you have to get a selfie to commemorate the hours of planning and talking you did to make the day one of the most incredible days EVER!!!

We highly recommend Michael as a wedding photographer. When our wedding was rescheduled due to the Asheville hurricane in 2024, we found Michael—and we’re so grateful we did. Michael was incredibly attentive; before the wedding, he met with us during our venue tasting to understand what we wanted and regularly checked in as we approached our date. On our wedding day, he excelled at organizing everyone—even as rain and lightning approached, Michael made sure every photo we wanted was taken, sometimes with drill-sergeant precision but always with good humor. Michael’s second shooter, Jesse, was also wonderful to work with and helped make the experience enjoyable for everyone. Michael’s strong personality was perfect for us, and the photos are simply stunning—they capture who we are as a couple and look even better than we imagined. We wholeheartedly encourage anyone planning a wedding or event to give Michael a call.
