Hello, I’m Melissa! I’m a wedding & lifestyle photographer with a heart and eye for the genuine, real, and joyful moments! Based in Chicago but let’s be real, I love to travel - so take me with you! :) My heart as a photographer is to document your moments genuinely & always true to color. So that one day you will look back & remember not just what it looked like - but what it FELT like!

I’m 100% goofy, foodie, clumsy often, and laid back. :) I love a oat milk latte, good conversation, and more than anything - really getting to know you and your story. I pour my heart into knowing you because I really want to feel like a friend vs another vendor on your wedding day! You will spend the most time with your photographer & it’s so important to know, trust, and feel completely comfortable with them.     I discovered Melissa through her impressive Instagram portfolio and was immediately drawn to her radiant, warm, and inviting presence. From our initial conversation, I shared that I sometimes feel awkward or shy around the camera, and Melissa immediately felt like an older sister or a friend who would naturally help my now-husband and me feel comfortable, facilitating the photoshoots with her sense of humor and engaging conversation throughout the process. Her portfolio was eclectic—showcasing a variety of settings, racially and culturally diverse couples, families, indoor and outdoor scenes, multiple seasons, cities, and colors—but above all, she beautifully captures raw, authentic moments between people, which I absolutely loved. Melissa was incredibly attentive, asking all the right nuanced questions and periodically checking in with us via facetime or messages in the months leading up to the wedding. I wholeheartedly recommend doing engagement shots with her too; it gave her a chance to get to know us, understand our love, our dynamic, and our personalities, and further tailor her style to us. She is confident and instructive yet gentle, serious about her craft yet fun to be around, and even attended our final walk-through to get familiar with the venue, meet the vendors, and support us. Her commitment to quality, along with her efficiency, allowed us to stay on schedule for first looks, group photos, and family shots, all of which took place in separate locations. Melissa was with me almost the entire day, capturing moments and guiding me through first looks, group shots, family photos, and the ceremony. She was practically my coordinator, offering emotional support throughout the day, and she and her assistant were nonstop, capturing every moment of the night. By the wedding day, Melissa felt more like a true friend than a vendor. I wholeheartedly recommend her to my family and friends, and certainly look forward to scheduling future moments for her to capture. Melissa loves love and will deliver the love you want to showcase—look no further!

    Melissa was such a joy to work with. She made what can be a stressful time completely stress free. Choosing a photographer for our wedding was top of our list and we are so glad to have had the chance to work with her. She’s so easy to trust and quick to respond to any question or comment. She listened to everything we asked for and wanted and as a result our wedding photos turned out amazing - they are something that we’ll cherish forever.

    Melissa and her crew were exceptionally communicative and collaborative throughout our entire planning process. They provided excellent support the day of the wedding and showed both flexibility and calmness throughout the event. Overall picture quality was good, but the photos of the wedding itself and post-wedding family gathering suffered from bad lighting and unfortunate positioning. This may have been more about the venue itself (Osteria via Stato in Chicago), but there was room for improvement.

    Hire Melissa for all of your photography needs, especially if you are particularly camera shy or think you feel awkward in front of the camera. She is simply the BEST and makes you feel super comfortable, makes you laugh, and most importantly, captures the perfect moments. We hired her for our fall engagement session and our winter wedding in January and are in LOVE with every single photo. I find every excuse to post the photos she took. In fact, my entire family loved her so much that my little sister is using her for her wedding in June 2024. Thank you so much for everything, Melissa!
