About Lotus Photography
Lotus Photography
My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. I fell in love with capturing weddings in 2017 and I have been hooked ever since!
I was born in Washington DC and I have lived in Northern Virginia almost all my life. I love nature and art and exploring our gorgeous area for beautiful or off-the-beaten path spots that people often overlook. I cherish every part of the creative process, from scouting a location that reflects my clients' vision to the spontaneity of the shoot to learning which favorite images made a client tear up, or smile. I'm not satisfied until I have presented people with pictures they will treasure forever.

Perfect Wedding Day Photographer
We found Georgette’s portfolio online by recommendation through a friend of a friend actually. Our first introduction over the phone was an instant connection and we were so excited to have her photograph our wedding day. The whole booking process was easy and straightforward; from executing the contract and scheduling Venmo payments, to filling out the online questionnaire for our expectations and working through the day-of timeline. The day of the wedding she arrived early, met all the key players, got the layout down of the venue, and was ready to shoot on time. She couldn’t have been more accommodating with the on and off rain, hopping between the ceremony barn to the cocktail building, to my bridal cottage and even down to the pond with the owners to set up our first look. She was so fun and vibrant, constantly shooting photos and keeping everyone lively. While she was a professional photographer, we were so comfortable with her, she actually felt like one of us! Not to mention the fact that I was six months pregnant at the time and she was constantly checking on me all day. The entire wedding day couldn’t have gone any better and the experience with Georgette was one we will remember forever! I will also add that once we received the link to our private online photo album, every photo was in color and also black and white (which are my favorites) every special moment was captured, and I cannot wait to put together our forever wedding album! We also cannot wait to use Lotus Photography for future special occasions with our family and friends!

Georgette photographed my wedding in July 2025 and she did an incredible job from start to finish! She first shot my engagement photos, and then photographed the wedding day. She was very organized and communicative leading up to and throughout the big day. Her photographs were incredible and beautiful as well! I received my sneak peak photos only a few days after the big day. She was also very creative with her photos, and she was always up to help problem solve and use time efficiently to ensure we got all of the photos we wanted. Thank you for everything you did to capture our big day in a beautiful way!
