Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for about ten years now (holy cow, do I feel old!), starting with photographing friends' weddings and quickly falling in love with the work. While I adore capturing gorgeous portraits of the bride and groom and the quiet (and sometimes chaotic!), beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos) truly make your day uniquely yours. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

ART IS LIFE. I am an exhibiting artist (showing primarily mixed-media sculpture, fine art photography and needlepoint) and have exhibited widely in the states. I earned my BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and have since earned my MFA in Studio Arts from Maine College of Art. I absolutely surround myself with art regularly, whether working in the studio, visiting museums, or checking out fellow artists' works in galleries. I think that my background in the arts gives me a unique perspective while photographing, and I truly do view each wedding, portrait or family session as a unique creation...a work of art.

Julie did an amazing job photographing our summer camp wedding in Maine and was such a joy to work with! We love how all of our wedding pictures came out, with beautiful color, light, and tons of candid shots truly capturing the magic of the day and all the love we were surrounded by. Julie picked fantastic spots throughout our summer camp wedding venue to take photos and made great use of the natural features, color and different indoor and outdoor elements. She also got lots of nice candid shots of our guests and took care to document details of the day, such as the table settings, flowers, and signage. The entire process of working with Julie from start to finish felt effortless and comfortable - we had an initial conversation to see if we were a good fit and discuss what we were hoping for, and then contracting was extremely easy. Both of us felt we could really live in the moment and enjoy our wedding day without feeling like we were being pulled away from our guests too much for pictures. We did not do a first look, and we were still able to do all of our family portraits and pictures of the two of us without missing the whole cocktail hour. We also got our wedding photos back before we even returned from our honeymoon! Our family and friends also really appreciate that the wedding photo album isn’t watermarked, so you can share your pictures with your loved ones without them having to buy anything. Thank you Julie for being so fun to work with and for taking so many photos we will treasure!

We could not have asked for a better wedding photographer than Julie! From start to finish, she was absolutely incredible. She was so responsive and easy to communicate with during the planning process, and on the big day she went above and beyond to make sure we got every shot that mattered to us. Julie seamlessly traveled with us to multiple locations throughout the day, capturing everything beautifully while keeping the energy fun and stress-free. One of the biggest highlights was how quickly she delivered our photos—our full gallery was edited and ready before our honeymoon was even over! Julie was amazing to work with! We chose Wedding Package number 3 so we got engagement photos as well. It was my husband and I's first time getting professional photos, and Julie made it stress-free and fun! She gave us very simple directions for her photos and they all came out fantastic, even with it still being March and several inches of snow still on the ground. Our engagement photo session and the photos themselves made us confident in our choice to hire Julie as our wedding photographer. Day of the wedding Julie was just as fun and easy going to work with. She captured pre-ceremony moments and got some great candids of our guests. Julie asked us a few weeks before the wedding what photos we wanted to capture day of, and she made sure she got all of them. It rained most of our wedding day, and Julie was a trooper and still took pictures outside with us! I want to write more, but I don't want to carry on too much. Julie will not disappoint, she is phenomenal!
