I have loved doing makeup since I was in middle school, always an artist and creative and when I discovered makeup it seemed The world aligned. My passion for people and sharing experiences with my clients and my love for makeup makes this my favorite thing I’ve ever done. My relationships with my clients is my favorite part.

I have been doing makeup for over 17 years and while doing weddings and events worked for one of biggest brands MAC cosmetics for ten years. My time with MAC taught my a lot, everyday was different, everyday you had all sorts of clients. So my biggest asset is I can do all ages, all sexes, races and it comes naturally. I always exposed myself to different experiences so I could implement with my own clients, whether it was in fashion photography and film.

    Essie Cohen is a truly brilliant makeup artist. She immediately puts you at ease, listens closely, and knows exactly how to make you look and feel beautiful. I hired Essie for my November wedding, and she did an outstanding job. She transformed my two bridesmaids, my mother, my mother-in-law, and me into absolute works of art -- while still making sure each of us looked like ourselves. Throughout the getting-ready process, Essie had my back. She created this calm, protective bubble around me so I could relax, stay centered, and enjoy being pampered. I’m so grateful for her talent, professionalism, and care. I highly, highly recommend her.

    I cannot recommend the Essie Cohen team enough for a Westchester bride. I was coming up from the City and it was so easy to schedule my trial with them and everything day-of was seamless. I had a fairly big party to get ready with 10 women and they had us all looking and feeling beautiful in a timeless and natural way, accentuating everyone’s own looks. Daniela was my makeup artist. As someone who does not do a lot of makeup and doesn’t really know what to ask, she made feel so comfortable, gave great suggestions and we had a great trial that left me feeling ready for the big day. On my wedding day, I didn’t have to make any decisions at all, and she made my dream bridal makeup come true!

    Essie is truly amazing to work with!!!! I was the last of three sisters to work with Essie and my entire family has loved working with her each time! She enhances your natural beauty and really listens to what you want. She is also a treat to have around while getting ready - my full bridal party had only great things to say. Her makeup will last all night even through all the dancing! She is truly the best and was such an easy decision when I had to pick my makeup artist!

    Essie was my makeup artist for my June 22, 2024 wedding, and I simply cannot recommend her enough. She is thoughtful, kind, and incredibly professional with her brides. Though she has done hundreds (or maybe even thousands?) of weddings, she took the time to personalize my look for ME, and to encourage me to be honest if I wanted any tweaks. Her energy is so calm and positive- the exact thing you need in a hectic bridal suite. She worked FAST and even kept us ahead of schedule- which I believe is unheard of for the wedding day! Her assistant Riley made skin prep a total dream, and many of my bridesmaids said it was the best professional makeup they've ever received. However, Essie became more than a makeup artist throughout my planning process. When our photographer needed to cancel, she saw my post in a bridal FB group and immediately texted me to send about 25 photography recs- following up to be sure I'd found someone. When I posted in that same group asking for help finding a sponsor for our country club venue, Essie jumped in to help. She went WAY above and beyond what a vendor does for a client, and instead acted as a genuine friend. It's hard to fully put into words how wonderful she is, but booking with Essie is a no-brainer.
