Lead Floral Designer

A Lily Among Thorns offers romantic and modern floral designs for the New York Metropolitan area. With our design studio located in Northern New Jersey, we can also happily extend our design services to Connecticut and Pennsylvania. We specialize in an organic and airy approach to floral design drawing inspiration from how stems naturally grow in nature. In our design approach, we lean towards intentional minimalism so we can focus on designs that truly resonate with our couples.

With an emphasis on color theory and principles of design, each wedding and event is designed intentionally while honoring seasonality. Our work is collaborative and curious as we work alongside Wedding Planners and Designers to execute a vision that is sentimental and original.

    Isabel truly exceeded expectations. I knew next to nothing about flowers going into this experience. When Isabel presented the initial inspiration design board for the wedding, I made a couple of comments of things I liked and did not like. Isabel took all that feedback, and some inspiration photos I emailed her, and truly made the most beautiful wedding flowers in the world! She was also very fun, professional, and low stress, which enabled me to feel comfortable providing the initial comments and getting the flowers of my dreams for the actual wedding day. Isabel also added fun fruit and candles to the the table, creating an experience my guests are still discussing to this day.

    We worked with Isabel for our wedding in April and could not be happier with the florals and the whole experience leading up! First, Isabel is such a bubbly and enthusiastic person which made working with her very enjoyable. She was extremely communicative, detail oriented and on top of everything throughout (we never had to once worry about florals, everything was so easy). We went with various spring blooms (mostly cream with some pops of color) and everything came out so beautiful – the chuppah (which was such a star of the ceremony), the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, and all the installations and table florals. She truly brought my vision to life, but also had many creative ideas along the way which we ended up loving (for example, she recommended different single stem bouquets for each bridesmaid which at first I apprehensive about but ended up loving it!). It felt like the perfect spring wedding in NYC with the florals she designed. We highly recommend Isabel not only for her talent, but also she is such a joy to work with – you won’t regret it!

    My husband and I worked with Isabel & A Lily Among Thorns for our wedding and could not be happier with the process and execution. Our florals and decor were even more beautiful than we could've imagined. Isabel worked with us on multiple moodboards to understand our vision and ensure it was exactly what we wanted (including some last minute changes/additions which all turned out perfectly)! We had a few large ceiling installations that required extra work and coordination with other vendors, which Isabel executed flawlessly. In addition to our wedding, she also provided gorgeous florals for an intimate church ceremony on a separate day with the same level of quality and care. Isabel went above and beyond to make sure we and our families had a great experience. She was always responsive and open to feedback, and even personally bundled our florals at the end of the night so we could bring them home. We got so many compliments on our florals and decor - all thanks to Isabel and her team. On a personal note, Isabel is extremely friendly, personable, enthusiastic, talented, and passionate about her work. She was a joy to work with and we would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Isabel!!!
