We specialize in small-batch, buttercream cakes, with an artistic sensibility. Our buttercream-based designs are fully hand painted. Together we're determined to prove you can have it all: a cake that tastes just as good as it looks.

Lady Grey Cake Design is the brainchild of Alia Al-Hatlani and Becca Hapke, two ladies whose food obsession brought them together. Alia (Lead Decorator) approaches her cakes from an artist's perspective, while Becca (Head Baker) is what Alia likes to call, "a flavor genius." Her understanding of what flavors work together, whether they're twists on a classic or unique and unexpected, are always downright delicious.

    Alia was wonderful to work with. She was also so quick to reply to our questions and all the flavors that we tried for our wedding cake were delicious so we had a lot of difficulty choosing. We especially liked the roasted strawberry flavor and pistachio flavor. We ended up getting the sour cream cake with roasted strawberries and it was a hit with all of our guests! Can't recommend Lady Grey Cake Design enough!

    We ordered four not-custom cakes from Lady Grey and had a friend pick them up. The cakes were beautiful. My mom said it was the best buttercream she had ever had. My aunt went back into the catering kitchen to steal a couple of slices they had mangled and hadn't served. There was a lot of leftover food at my reception but there was no leftover cake.
