I’m Robyn— a wife, mother, sister, nurse, friend, and entrepreneur. As a nurse, I worked with moms and babies in the delivery room + after. I loved being a part of a major milestone in a couples life. This is why I love weddings! The opportunity to be a part of your story; your memories and moments that will be photographed and talked about for years to come. Backyard Bakeries was created from love and passion for creating beautiful and delicious food for my loves. It's the pursuit of a dream. It's realizing that we get one chance at this life and that it's not necessary to be afraid to go after a happy heart!

Backyard Bakeries is a small business specializing in wedding and event cakes in Castle Rock, CO and the surrounding areas. Owner Robyn makes bespoke cakes, personalized to you for your big day. From the initial consultation where you’ll make flavor and design decisions, you will know you’re in the right place. From her role as a mom + nurse welcoming new additions into the world, to now making marvelous creations for milestone events, she pours her heart into every cake she bakes, cherishing the honor of having a part in one of the biggest days of a couple’s life. Robyn is the best of them- I'll shout it from the rooftops! Not only is her wok delicious and beautiful, but she genuinely cares about the bride and groom and the success of the wedding. As a wedding planner, I work with lots of different dessert vendors, and Robyn is the top of my list every time. I can't recommend her enough!

Every time I've worked with you, I walk into an event is organized, calm and of course simply beautiful. When you work with a great planner, you're able to shine because there's no chaos (at least not visible on the surface), and you're able to focus on all the right things. We tried a few different places for our wedding cake and Backyard Bakeries was the easy winner. The flavor was amazing. Other places were limited in choices and none came close to the flavor from Backyard Bakeries. Robyn was super easy to work with and down to earth. On our wedding day, running around with other things to work on, the cake came, was set up, and ready to go. No worries or problems.

We wanted a return to the Victorian era for our cake, and it was beyond beautiful. The flavors were amazing--especially the lavendar cake with lemon filling. And the swiss meringue frosting--safe to say there was none left on the plates.

No problem! This is the case with many couples actually. The way I advise you in this case is to plan for your top number and to put your deposit down based on this. Since your second payment is due 30 days prior to your event, we will just get in touch and adjust as needed prior to making your final payment. This way you really only pay for the amount of people you truly expect in attendance!

I can accommodate for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian diets!

Unfortunately, the cost of the cake does not include the tasting at this time. As a one-woman operation, the majority of the cost associated with the tasting is for the time I set aside to be available to discuss your order at length. I love to meet in person, but also have virtual consultation options. And should you decide to move forward with me, a complimentary wedding anniversary cake is included!

Absolutely!! This is one of my very favorite parts of what I do. I love to work with people to create a vision that is unique and special to them. We will spend the necessary time together to ensure I understand exactly what you're hoping for and to make sure you're excited and confident in the direction we go with your cake.

I operate a licensed Colorado Cottage Home Bakery. This means that I have taken the steps necessary to gain licensure by the state, deeming my kitchen in compliance with food-safety set by the state regulatory agencies. I am also licensed by the state of Colorado as an LLC.

We will discuss this at length! One of the areas that I can get creative with is the height and diameter of your cake to adjust for your exact needs. I will recommend you order based on your expected guest count and we will adjust as your day gets closer, prior to your final payment; ensuring you get as close to what you actually want and need as possible!
