About The Downtown Collective
The Downtown Collective
The Downtown Collective Band was established in 2016 as just a couple of guys who wanted to jam out in the attic. We got some small gigs here and there doing hybrid DJ/live music performances. Then we found friends from music school/work that played instruments and made the jam bigger and got more gigs. Now we are known as one of the top bands in the Midwest. We love playing live music because you get a much more authentic experience with people actually playing instruments and sharing what they feel deep down in their soul as they perform! All of our past clients agree- Downtown Collective is a high energy group that gets everyone dancing!
We aren't like your typical band because we like to put the focus on the event and the people involved. We are really good at reading the crowd and mixing our set list up to play music for everyone. The stage and dance floor combines into a community of people having the time of their lives! People are dancing AND singing with us. Yes we are a cover band, but we actually cover the songs and do our own little spins on the arrangements of the songs.

The Downtown Collective - best wedding band!!
The Downtown Collective was the biggest hit of our wedding! They were incredible (both with coordinating/planning for the big day and performing the day of), and worth every single penny! During and after our wedding, so many people were coming up to us saying how amazing the band was. There were people on the dance from from the time the band started until the 3rd encore song! All band members are extremely talented and can play such a broad genre of music. Cannot recommend this band enough! Cornell is also amazing and was so easy to work with and helped make our day perfect. 10/10!!! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to throw the best party of their lives and have people dancing all night long!

my husband and i decided to have a post covid reception for our 5 year anniversary and we found downtown collective and i started meeting with Cornell and after we talked, i just KNEW i needed them a part of our day. Cornell and Ether were so beyond helpful with the process and going over timelines for me. we chose to do the 6pc instrumental and it was the PERFECT vibe. people could eat, drink, all while our favorite songs were playing in the background via live music. their saxophone man is such a vibe and we kept getting continuous compliments on the music and the energy. if you want to spice it up from a DJ, please meet with Cornell, he is so sweet and you will NOT regretting booking them for your day. i kinda want to get divorced and then have a huge wedding so i can hire the band again but with more members and the vocalist
Simply the best!
My husband and I chose to have The Downtown Collective perform at our wedding because we saw them perform twice and had a blast every time. They really know how to get a crowd pumped up and dancing! We love their energy and truly feel that they were a highlight of our wedding. They even joined in on the dance floor while performing flawlessly! We received so many comments from our guests, asking where we found such an amazing band, and complimenting their performance. I cannot recommend them enough. They also provided a photo booth which was so much fun! Cornell communicated with us for months before the wedding, ensuring that we had everything planned out, including our favorite songs, the wedding day timeline and the overall vibe we wanted to have during our ceremony and reception. He helped us feel comfortable and was invaluable as a guide throughout the process. We had no clue how to organize the flow of events for a wedding and he helped us through it all. Our wedding was truly unforgettable and we owe a lot of that to this incredible band!
