We are a husband and wife team located in New Haven, Connecticut who have played over 1000+ weddings and hire professionals from the top orchestras in New England. As a modern couple ourselves, recently married in May of 2021, we are very familiar with the process on both sides. Modern Strings offers a variety of ensemble choices for your budget that range from a solo violinist, to an electric duo, to full string quartet. Whether you are wanting to stay classic or try something unique, our music library can offer you classical, pop, religious, film, jazz music, and more!

We believe that the modern couple, should have modern musicians that can take play in a variety of styles in order to create a personalized experience for their event. Planning a wedding is an exciting time, and you'll have not one, but two people to assist in complementing your musical style to your wedding.

We hired Modern Strings to have a string quartet for our wedding ceremony and could not have been more pleased! They provided amazing music to our taste while our guests arrived and the music for our ceremony was absolutely perfect! Even one of my guests who is a classically trained musician commented on how amazing he thought they were! Celine was easy to communicate with prior to our wedding date and we could not recommend more!

I can’t recommend Modern Strings enough! We hired the violin and cello duo for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour of about 100 guests, and they completely exceeded our expectations. I wasn’t sure at first if we needed live strings, but they set such a romantic, elevated tone for the day. Celine was incredibly responsive and organized, making the entire process one of the smoothest and easiest of all our vendors.

We hired Modern Strings for our cocktail hour during our wedding and had such a wonderful experience! Communication was excellent from the very beginning. Celine took the time to speak with me on the phone and walk through the different musician options, helping us decide what would work best for the size of our event. She was always quick to respond to emails and made the planning process so easy. We were able to select our top song requests, and our violinist performed them beautifully during our cocktail hour. They arrived on time, were completely professional, and played so wonderfully that we received countless compliments from our guests. The music added such an elegant touch to our celebration and really elevated our guests experience.
