Welcome to 42 West! Congrats on your special day! We are situated in a 50 year old building right in the middle of the hustle bustle of the West Side. Our space has all new upgrades and the warmth of unique brick touches. We are one of the newest independent venues on the west side of Atlanta with the only true outdoor space. Our stunning large iron doors open to our beautifully lit patio. Our entrance to venue is super unique and hidden. You guests will be so shocked when the wind their way to the space! This venue is for couple who want an industrial feel, with high ceilings and high end finishes. We can't wait to hear from you.

Our venue was originally built in 1942, and used as munitions storage during World War 2. After that, it was repurposed for different industrial uses until the 1990s, when we moved in and set up our antique shop. Thirty years later, the area has changed incredibly and we no longer work in antiques!

The Electric Room at Star Metals offers upscale features, social and collaborative spaces, state-of-the-art finishes, panoramic views, an indoor/outdoor bar, and a cohesive design sensibility that will transform your next event. The venue is located in the center of West Midtown along the Howell Mill Road corridor, with a vibrant mix of dining, shopping, and cultural and entertainment venues. Notable neighbors include Westside Provisions District; Georgia Tech; Northside Tavern; the Westside Cultural Arts Center; the Goat Farm Arts Center; and the newly developed Westside Paper. Our interior space, with its 16-foot ceiling and polished concrete floors, boasts a refined upscale interior with warm urban charm. The outdoor rooftop patio provides striking views of Atlanta’s Midtown skyline as well as beautiful sunsets to the west.

As a facility rental, we provide tables and folding chairs inside, as well as complimentary parking. All outdoor furniture will need to be rented. Catering would be provided through one of our amazing catering companies we partner with and can average $120 to $200 per guest. Beverage service and bartenders are additional and are provided by the History Center. It is about $65 per person for a 4-hour premium full bar. We have a full property minimum on Saturdays of a peak month: April, May, June, September, and October. The facility rental fee for the Swan Gardens, Atlanta History Museum, and Grand Overlook ballroom on a Saturday is $12,500 and we have an additional $5,500 beverage minimum. Fridays and Sundays are $10,000 with a $2,500 beverage minimum. Most of our weddings can expect to spend between $400 to $1,000 per guest after all vendors and costs are added up and divided out per guest.

Capacity: 400 standing guests / approximately 220 seated guests! Our second wedding area, the Roebuck Room, is a versatile space located in the iconic water tower that rises above the rooftop. We can host up to 75 guests for a full-scale wedding, 100 guests for a seated dinner, and up to 150 reception style, the 11th floor space will be ideal for your private event or exclusive rehearsal dinner. While indoors, the expansive windows still offer our amazing Skyline Views.
