Nicole is the definition of a true professional. She delivers exactly what she promises. The compliments from guests on our wedding florals were endless, and even now, people are still talking about how beautiful everything looked. If you’ve ever planned a wedding or a large-scale event, you know how overwhelming it can be. I spoke with several florists before finding Nicole, and the difference was night and day. One florist brushed me off because I didn’t know the exact flowers I wanted during our first call. Another abruptly asked (5 minutes in) if I was just using them to learn flower names before cutting me off mid-conversation. It was discouraging, to say the least. Then there was Nicole. From our very first call, I felt at ease. I wasn’t looking to spend thousands and thousands on florals, and I didn’t have a detailed list of flowers in mind—just a general vibe and some inspo photos. Nicole took the time (over an hour on our first call!) to walk me through what would fit that vision, approximately what it would cost, and how she could bring it to life. She gave me guidance with zero pressure, and that genuine care and clarity made her the first vendor I signed after booking my venue. What impressed me most was how she respected my vision. I only wanted simple bud vases and understated elegance, and instead of pushing me to spend more or upsell me, she embraced my ideas wholeheartedly and executed them perfectly. On top of that, her delivery and set-up pricing was incredibly reasonable, and worth every penny. (Trust me—you don’t want your friends or family worrying about logistics on the morning of your wedding. Let Nicole handle it.) I would hire her again in a heartbeat. If you want a florist who is kind, professional, transparent, and talented—look no further than Nicole.

The Local Petaler

5.0

  • Serves North Aurora, IL

The Local Petaler is a wedding and event floral design studio based in St. Charles, IL. The business started as a part-time venture just over 4 years ago in my mom's garage and quickly blossomed (awful pun) into a full-fledged career. With at least 100 weddings produced under The Local Petaler and countless others worked on as a freelance designer for other companies, I've done a little bit of everything at every venue. You're in good hands!

Jen was incredible to work with. From the initial phone consultation, to day-of wedding set up, and all of the modifications and emails in between- she helped bring our vision to life. Our florals exceeded our greatest expectations. Even so many of our guests mentioned that they were the most beautiful arrangements that they have ever seen. Thank you so much, Jen. You made our wedding day so, so special.

I cannot recommend Eileen highly enough! She was amazing to work with, start to finish. She was so thoughtful--in our first meeting she asked me my height and dress sillhouette to make sure that the flowers wouldn't overwhelm me. She was that thoughtful throughout! We were not always the most prepared or communicative about what we wanted, and she absolutely understood the vision and exceeded all of our expectations of how beautiful our day could be. She was so easy to work with. I had a hard time picking out photos for this review becuase her flowers look too good!!! I really can't say enough about how wonderful Eileen and her work are.

She listened to our daughter's vision for a “rustic” formal barn wedding and incorporated her favorite flowers bringing it to life beautifully. Her flower and design suggestions perfectly complemented the venue and wedding party attire. She was also mindful of cost, repurposing arrangements from the ceremony for the reception. On the wedding day, Darlene and her assistant were attentive and flawlessly in command eliminating any stress related to the floral details. Bloome L.L.C.

5.0

  • Serves North Aurora, IL

Born of a lifetime of creative pursuits, Bloome's founder Pamela Klein has one goal: making beautiful. Your beautiful—for whatever you need. Bloome is a boutique floral and event design studio devoted to building relationships with our clients as we curate unique, memorable, floral creations and event decor tailored specifically to the visions and dreams you have for your special occasion, gift, holiday or daily life at home. Now it's your turn. Whether you're planning a private elopement or the grandest of affairs, we would consider it a privilege to come alongside you for your day!

I can’t say enough about our experience with Bloome! From the first meeting with Pam and Alley, we clicked instantly. They have a truly unique, creative process that felt personalized and collaborative from start to finish. Pam and Alley are so warm, welcoming, and dedicated to understanding your vision, and from the moment we started, I knew they’d be able to bring my dream wedding to life. I was initially nervous since we didn't have a very large budget for flowers...so I told the Bloome team from the very beginning that my biggest concern is our slightly smaller budget would show. Pam assured me that would not be the case, and they would be able to work within our budget while still delivering amazing results. And boy was she right!!! We were aiming for a moody, romantic vibe with deep, dark jewel tones and lush greenery, and Bloome delivered beyond what I could have imagined. Their pricing model is based on labor rather than product, which was such a refreshing approach and gave us the flexibility to focus on our vision without getting bogged down in the details of individual item costs. This flexibility allowed them to get really creative with the arrangements, and they even surprised us by adding pops of beautiful colors to our greenery centerpieces. Originally, we were only expecting greenery, but they thoughtfully and generously went above and beyond, squeezing in stunning flowers that took our decor to the next level. We also got SO MANY compliments on our candles throughout the entire venue. Given our jewel tone color palette, we strayed from the traditional white/ivory candles and used a deep eggplant purple. It really helped tie the florals together and give us extra pops of color to complement our lush greenery! I was also obsessed with my giant, GORGEOUS bridal bouquet and we were able to repurpose our ceremony florals to create a super dramatic and beautiful sweetheart table arrangement. Pam and Alley at Bloome truly knocked it out of the park, and their passion and artistry showed in every piece. If you’re looking for florists who genuinely listen, bring your vision to life, and make you feel supported every step of the way, Bloome is where you want to go!

Phillip's Flowers & Gifts

5.0

  • Serves North Aurora, IL

Seven family members are active in the Chicago floral business, which now reaches beyond Chicago, too. For nationwide flower delivery, Phillip's was recently named one of the Top 50 florists in North America, the company's online flower shops have earned it honors, and Phillip's has also been named an Illinois Retailer of the Year. Phillip's Flowers may be best known locally for its colorful floral shops, busy delivery vehicles, and custom wedding flowers. Still, in an age of giant corporations and mega-mergers, it's nice to know that some small family businesses like Phillip's are blooming, too.

Phillip's Flowers is the absolute best! The flowers and decor were absolutely perfect! We worked with Laura Walsh and her team, and they were truly outstanding. At our first meeting, Laura guided us through every step of the process, took detailed notes, and asked questions to help us think through every detail. She even made arrangements based on our wedding colors. At our second meeting, she created more bouquets and centerpieces, which really allowed us to visualize what to expect on our wedding day. Laura was incredibly patient and understanding of last-minute changes. She is knowledgeable, flexible, and truly cares about her customers. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks for everything!

Floral Wonders did an amazing job for our wedding! I don’t know anything about flowers but I sent inspo pics of floral pillars and they absolutely nailed it. They were gorgeous and exactly how I had pictured them. They deconstructed the pillars after the ceremony for loose florals on the reception tables, which also turned out exactly as I had imagined. The boutonnières and corsages were perfect and the bridal party bouquets were beautiful. I loved my bridal bouquet - I’m in the process of preserving it into a resin table so I can keep it forever. Everyone I spoke to leading up to the wedding plus the staff onsite on the day of were so nice and professional - I am so happy we went with Floral Wonders for our wedding day!

5.0

  • Serves North Aurora, IL

Marie Pauly is the Owner of Wild Orchid Custom Floral Design and Tim Pauly, her husband is Co-Owner. Right from the beginning Tim and I were inseparable and it was obvious we would be together forever. After marrying in 1980, we moved to the small western suburbs to raise our children and opened “The Wildflower” shop in 1989, which specialized in silk arrangements and gifts. Trends changed and The Wildflower slowly rebranded into Wild Orchid and focused specifically on fresh floral design. From weddings to sympathy arrangements; Wild Orchid grew with referrals and to this day prides itself on satisfied client referrals. I strive to treat each couple as if they were my own family and work to make their big day everything they dreamed of and more. My better-half, Tim, serves as the backbone to Wild Orchid with his behind the scenes dedication to the business. He helps with wedding day logistics to make sure everything arrives en-tact and also creates custom decor elements for various events.

I cannot recommend Marie from Wild Orchid enough! As the bride, I’ve known Marie for years, and there was no one else I trusted more to bring my wedding florals to life. She absolutely exceeded all expectations. From the very beginning, Marie was attentive, kind, and truly listened to my vision. Miriam and her team at Esther's Private Garden were wonderful from start to finish. Her authenticity and just realness and transparency is what sets her apart and something I great appreciated as an over analyzer. For example, I quoted and interviewed 7 different Chicago florists before choosing Ester's Private Garden and I would 100% book her again! From the first beautiful proposal to our continuing conversations, Miriam was able to take my color vision to life. Coming up with a colorful palette that blended summer and fall colors (a September wedding) was no easy feat but Miriam was able to execute so full! I was in awe of my flowers from my bridal bouquet to ceremony stands, and our grand staircase. Out tables were event a gradient of colors and a last add-on of incorporating fruit, she did it and did it perfectly. We got numerous compliments from our florals and many guests begged to take center pieces home. Aside from the quality of her work, she is overall a good person. So friendly, sympathized with the stress of wedding planning, and really just felt like a friend and someone on my team. I am so appreciative of her and can not recommend her enough!

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

Awarded Best of Zola
The process of using something borrowed blooms was so easy. I loved that the flowers could be reused and that I wasn't going to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would just be thrown away! They included the return label in the box with the flowers they shipped out, which was great because we did not have a printer at our destination wedding. All of our flowers were fake because I was also worried about the heat wilting our flowers. I only rented bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and a dog collar- but I wish I had rented my centerpieces as well! Amazing experience with SBB all around!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves North Aurora, IL

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were on a strict budget for our wedding. I knew that florals would be the best way to save on some of the huge wedding costs. I found out about Flower Moxie from googling where I would get wholesale flowers. I was immediately hooked once I saw the flower options, tutorials, and worksheets to help plan out my special day. I am very big on organization, and this website had resources for every step of the way. I found the perfect combination of flowers for my boho wedding. I ordered the flowers about 2 months before our big day. It was a destination wedding, so I was checking into our airbnb on the day the flowers were arriving. I had them scheduled to be delivered at the Fedex holding center near by. I thought the company only used Fedex shipping based on my research. I went into full panic mode when I saw the flowers had been shipped by UPS. I immediately called UPS and Fedex, and to be honest I was stunned at the behavior on the other side of the phone. The flowers were still in transit, and no one would help me with rerouting. I called Flower Moxie to see if they could change things on their side as they were the sender. Luis answered the phone and it felt like I finally had someone looking out for me. I had already spent 4 hours on the phone with the shipping companies and gotten nowhere. Luis said he was on it and not to worry. I ordered enough flowers for 18 centerpieces, 70 bud vases, 8 bouquets, and 1 flower arch. Needless to say, it was quite the ordeal to reroute everything. Over the next 48 hours, Luis kept in constant contact with me about the progress of the shipment. I know I was on the phone for at least 6 hours with this ordeal, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had spent about 15 hours talking to UPS, Fedex, florists, and customs to get me my flowers. He made me feel calm and taken care of. Everyone was coming to me with questions and concerns the entire wedding week, and I can't express how it felt to have someone have my back, and take an extremely big tasks off my plate. I would absolutely recommend this company for DIY brides. And I hope this review is seen by Flower Moxie to highlight an outstanding employee with excellent customer service. In an age when it takes time and multiple attempts in order to talk to a person on the phone, I am so appreciative of the effort that was given by Luis for my wedding day. He made me feel like it was an important event for him too. Thank you Luis for making my wedding dreams come true! My sister also mentioned you in her MOH wedding speech. We were all impressed :)

The Faux Bouquets was a wonderful florist to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, their communication was prompt, clear, and friendly. They walked us through the process seamlessly and the quality of their work was excellent. The bouquets, boutonnières, garlands with clip on flowers, and centerpieces had an authentic, natural look despite being faux flowers. Pricing is transparent and affordable, making it an easy decision to choose Faux Bouquets. Working with Dreamscapes Wedding Floral Designs was an absolute pleasure. From the moment we first spoke, Amanda demonstrated a professional, knowledgeable, and collaborative approach that put me at ease throughout the entire planning process. She was friendly and attentive, involving me in every decision and carefully considering all of my wishes and preferences to ensure my wedding day vision came to life. The floral arrangements Amanda created were truly stunning - elegant, skillful, and wonderfully fresh. Her creations elevated the venue space, providing breathtaking focal points that perfectly complemented the photography and brought my entire wedding aesthetic together seamlessly. I could not have been more thrilled with the quality and value of Amanda's work, and I would recommend Dreamscapes to any couple looking for a florist that will exceed their expectations.

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!
