We held our wedding at The Franklin, with photos on the steps and around the museum, a rooftop service followed by cocktails in the life sciences and energy galleries, and dinner and dancing in the Rotunda with the Ben Franklin National Memorial. Start to finish the days was seamless, organized and amazing. The combination of the quality of the organization (we did not need a wedding planner, the staff at the Franklin did 90% of the work), the food and catering, lighting and small touches all made the day the best of our lives. On top where else can you drink a Martini in the Giant Heart and dance under the stars in a National Memorial. Can not recommend them enough !!!

Arch Street Meeting House

5.0

Philadelphia, PA
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,000

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803 to 1811 when need arose of a larger meetinghouse in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Caters to out-of-town guests
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Lighting and sound are not included
Arch Street Meeting House proved to be the ideal spot for our wedding. Jenn was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure she understood exactly what we were looking for and how her team could help bring it to fruition. They allowed us to close the grounds to the public so that our guests could mingle and sip champagne outside in the beautiful weather. All of the guests commented on how tangibly historical the venue was and how they loved the simplicity and timelessness of the ceremony space. (Which looks absolutely stunning in the few preview photos we've gotten back.) Because it was so much more affordable, we also decided to hold our rehearsal dinner there and hired a taco truck to act as the caterers. All in all, I can't recommend ASMH or Jenn and the team more highly!!

The Curtis Atrium

5.0

  • Select services
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $28,000

With towering columns, radiant skylights, and a grand staircase framing an iconic art deco waterfall, stepping into the historic Curtis Atrium is like entering an era when elegance was natural and luxury was standard. Today the 100-year-old structure hosts downtown Philadelphia’s most timeless weddings, from the airy 12-story chamber where couples recite their vows to the well-appointed wedding suite tucked away in the spacious, delicately detailed cocktail hour mezzanine. When it comes time to dance and dine, custom draperies and lighting transform the atrium to an intimate ballroom — and a canvas for decor both tastefully simple or ornately embellished. A full on-site kitchen, newly installed by Constellation, ensures a fresh, delicious culinary experience for guests at very morsel.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides event staff
  • Historic touches
  • Versatile for various event styles

Venue considerations

  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Lighting and sound are not included
The Curtis Atrium is a wedding venue unlike any other! The space is huge, right in the heart of the city, and walkable to local hotels and so many historic sites. The room speaks for itself—you need very minimal decor. The high ceilings, stunning floors, and beautiful water fountain make it breathtaking, and the double staircase and balcony create an epic entrance for the reception. Constellation Catering nailed it with the food—our guests couldn’t stop raving about both cocktail hour and dinner, especially the grilled short rib. The staff was also incredible, so pleasant and extremely hardworking. Kumbah, who came on as head of catering during our planning, wasn’t always the most responsive, but she absolutely killed it on the day of the wedding—have trust in her. One tip: make sure to ask for a list of alcohol for the bar or send them exactly what you want ahead of time. Overall, The Curtis Atrium is a dream location for a wedding, and our day was exactly that!

The Auditorium, with its distinctly Colonial architecture, is an elegant ceremony venue, but is also perfect for a reception, with plenty of space for dining and dancing. We were so happy we chose the German Society as our venue! We absolutely loved our ceremony in the library space and the incredible atmosphere in that room, along with the great pictures we were able to take after the ceremony. The banquet hall space was perfect for dinner and dancing. We had hardly any decorations because we loved the entire space so much as is. We couldn't have had a better experience -- everything went so smoothly, the coordinator Liesl was so helpful, and we received so many compliments on the venue from our family and friends.

She handled every detail, including printing our tent cards when I couldn't find a print shop that would do it. Being able to do the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all in one building made it so easy for us and our guests. It was the perfect intimate space and the whole team is incredible. Who doesn't want handmade pasta and cannolis at their wedding?!

We had our wedding at the Flanders, and they did an incredible job! The hotel is a gorgeous venue for weddings, and from our first tour it stood out as a unique location that would look great in our photos. The food was excellent; we especially enjoyed the dim sum station at our cocktail hour. Our guests gave rave reviews about their meals. Lisa and Molly were great coordinators who assured us throughout the whole planning process that everything would go smoothly - and then made it happen! Being an obsessive planner myself, and doing all my decorations myself, I put together a binder of my plans for how each piece should be displayed. Lisa and Molly took that with grace, asked questions where needed, and made it happen! Joanne was an amazing maitre d' who anticipated our every need. She ensured that the day went perfectly, starting with the moment we walked down the aisle and she gave us some hints for scoring the best photos. She had also clearly read our binder. I was especially impressed when we came out of our ceremony and she had a platter of drinks ready for us and our wedding party while the marriage certificates were being signed. She was able to make a lighting change in one of our decorations happen while we were decompressing after the ceremony. During our Farewell Breakfast the next day, she coordinated packing away our homemade decorations, allowing us to enjoy the event without stress. Overall, the day went perfectly. It really is true that the best-laid plans will only succeed with a good team, and I feel strongly that we made an excellent choice in trusting this team for our wedding.

We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at the Carriage house! It has been taken over by Prime Hospitality catering who did an amazing job from start to finish! Our guests raved over the food, waitstaff, and bartenders! Katie and her team took care of every single aspect of our wedding which allowed my husband and I, our families, and our bridal party to be stress free and enjoy the day! I could go on and on about how amazing our wedding day was! Not a single thing went wrong, Katie and her team decorated the venue beautifully, the service was fantastic, and our guests continue to reach out about how beautiful the wedding venue was. It was better than I could’ve ever expected! I hope that the Carriage House starts to see an increase in weddings at their venue because they are truly amazing at their job! Katie coordinated and helped me with planning the wedding out from day 1. She worked relentlessly behind the scenes to ensure we had a great day. The food was the best wedding meal I have ever had and I’m not just saying that because I had my wedding here. The restaurant associated with the caterers “Brandywine Prime” makes amazing food. I will admit when initially wedding planning I was unsure of the carriage house due to the lack of online presence and photos of recent weddings. It is truly a hidden gem and definitely worth considering for your wedding day!!

I know what you’re thinking — isn’t that a restaurant? It is, but it’s also one of the most amazing wedding venues you could ever dream of. From the very first meeting, you’ll work with Judy, the event manager, and let me tell you, she is a true rockstar. Judy doesn’t just help plan your day; she makes the impossible possible. Every idea I threw her way, no matter how out-of-the-box, she brought to life. I wanted a roaming cannoli bar — I got it. I wanted drinks served out of a canoe and a freshly shucked oyster bar — I got those too. Nothing was too big, too small, or too complicated for her. She is hands down one of the hardest-working, most detail-oriented people you will ever meet. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. It wasn’t just your standard “wedding food” — it was fresh, flavorful, and truly unique to the Deauville experience. Weeks later, our guests are still raving about how it was some of the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. And the location itself? Unmatched. There’s something so magical about being right on the water — it feels both relaxed and elegant at the same time. When I first toured, Judy told me, “The night will already be memorable because of the location.” She couldn’t have been more right. Between the setting sun, the ocean breeze, and the warm glow of the venue, it was beyond anything I could have imagined. It was, without a doubt, the most amazing venue we could have ever chosen. 10/10 recommend — if you’re even considering it, stop thinking and just book it.

Lindsay and her team are amazing! They told us that if all we wanted to do was show up with our dress and suit we could, or we can make as many choices as we want… We opted for making choices on things that mattered to us and let them do the rest. Boy did they deliver!!!! The venue was beautiful and well prepared for our day! They worked with us within our budget and made our day absolutely perfect…My husband and I both said we want to get married again every day as long as they are in charge. The food, cake, and beverages were amazing! By far the best wedding food I’ve ever had and our guests agreed. Lindsay and Vicky took great care in every detail of our day to make sure it reflected us and they took great care to ensure we were not stressed at all…it was truly amazing! Again, my husband and I both were so happy and grateful for all of their hard work and commitment to us having the perfect day! I could not have asked for a better place to have my ceremony and reception. The outdoor space is absolutely beautiful and if for whatever reason the weather wasn’t gorgeous the indoor barn space as a plan B for the ceremony was also so stunning. My day of coordinator Dani and Bridal attendant Ashley were both so sweet and wonderful to work with. They were on top of everything so I didn’t have a single worry during our day. I received so many compliments on how professional and attentive the staff was and even more on how great the food tasted. We opted to use the wine cellar for a bourbon tasting and that too was a huge hit! I truly cannot thank all of Knowlton Mansion and their crew enough for helping make our day everything we’ve hoped and dreamed for!
