The Barn at Countryside is the perfect countryside backdrop for your most memorable moments. The wedding barn has been re-designed as a rustic yet modern barn to give it that updated style and has all the modern amenities. Wind Mountain is located along the Cascade Volcanic Arc, formed by basalt flows between 5 - 7 million years ago. Though relatively young by mountain standards, it has been weathered by wind and water since a time only the earth remembers. Humans are estimated to have settled in the area around 10,000 years ago, after the Missoula Floods carved rivers into the valley. Over time, these first people became the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz), Yakama, Confederated Tribes of the Warm Siletz, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla. The land north of the Columbia River Gorge is their ancestral home. Wind Mountain carries significance to the Native Americans as a Spirit Quest destination and is home to a sacred archaeological site near the summit.

This site was first developed by Philip Foster in 1847, as a resting place on the Oregon Trail. It still has four original Foster buildings (two moved onto the site), including a large hay barn, granary, and two houses. One house has been restored to its 1860 condition. We welcome all kinds of weddings, but are most appreciated by those who love Oregon History, and those who want to bring horses to the wedding. There are many options for how to use our site, and we are happy to help you create your dream event. Although parking is limited to about 50 cars, there is plenty of space for people.
