We had such an amazing wedding at The Oliver Building. Having the venue for the whole weekend made our weekend run so smoothly. We had our rehearsal Friday night, and brought everything over so we didn’t need to deal with it Saturday. Then got ready in the amazing upstairs suites Saturday morning. We had a great time, and Caitlin was so easy to work with! The only reason I took a star off is that we had some issues with the bar. We made it clear from the start that we wanted to prioritize the bar, and didn’t want long lines. Because of that, they said we would have 3 bartenders, and would batch some of our signature cocktails. Unfortunately, we only had two bartenders, despite giving tips for 3, and there were no cocktails batched. We did have a pretty long line at our bar most of the night because of this. All in all, it was an amazing venue for our wedding!!

I'm a Hesston, KS-based photographer, and I work on location at the beautiful Dyck Arboretum more than any other. I can say with certainty that the Dyck Arboretum of the Plains is one of my very favorite to work with; the staff there is helpful, positive, and collaborative. We've worked together many times, and they never cease to surprise me in their innovativeness growing the Arboretum both as a nature preserve and a business; they work super hard, are always up for trying new things, and are dedicated to sustainability. The Midland is hands down one of the best venues we have worked with from a vendor perspective! First and most importantly, the staff is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Our experience first started out with Kayla. Kayla is the Event Operations Manager at The Midland, of which her title should be “The Jack Of All Trades, Event Mastermind”. Kayla is the most kind, knowledgable, helpful, and organized person you will every meet! She had all of the information when I needed it and had very quick replies to any emails or questions that arose through the planning process. Kayla knew the entire venue inside and out and was incredibly helpful not only during the planning process, but during the wedding as well! The venue itself is absolutely stunning! This venue is one that needs very minimal decor because it is stunning all on it’s own. Can you decorate and have extravagant decor? Absolutely! We heard mentions all night abut the stunning venue!
