Amy and Dean are super to work with. They make sure your day is the way you want and planned. They also have so many different areas to choose from for your wedding ceremony and each and every one of them are beautiful. The antiques around there property are also such an added attraction. But give them a call. Amy is awesome and so sweet. I love going there to do a wedding because I know everything will be perfect and a delight. She has several wedding packages to choose from to meet your budget needs but willing to add or adjust to them as needed. Their son also works super as a bartender if you are in need of one of them.

Sacred Hearts Cultural Center

5.0

Augusta, GA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,000

In 1874, Father Theodore Butler purchased a home and a lot in Augusta, Georgia, for $10,000.00 to construct a building to be used as a church for the Catholic population and a school for children of all denominations. A simple Victorian structure served as a temporary facility for the church until work could begin on a larger, more significant building for the group. The first bricks were laid for Sacred Heart Church in 1897 and the church opened with the first service on December 2, 1900. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building features towering twin spires, graceful arches, fifteen distinctive styles of brickwork, ninety-four stained glass windows, a barreled vaulted ceiling, and intricately carved Italian marble altars. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors, the last mass was held in Sacred Heart on July 3, 1971.

Why you'll love this venue

What Questions Should You Ask Before Booking a South Carolina Venue?

Ask about exclusive catering requirements since historic venues often limit kitchen facilities for preservation reasons. Get clarity on exact rental periods as many venues offer limited time windows instead of full-day access which affects your timeline. Understand capacity limitations particularly for historic properties with preservation restrictions that might impact your guest list. Request specifics on accessibility features beyond basic ADA compliance to ensure all guests feel welcome. For waterfront venues inquire about preferred tent vendors for rain contingencies; you'll want options that complement the setting while providing proper protection.

How Do Seasonal Considerations Affect South Carolina Venue Selection?

Charleston faces hurricane risk from June through November with August bringing peak humidity that can challenge outdoor events. Greenville venues enjoy cooler temperatures than coastal locations giving you more comfort flexibility during summer months. June leads venue inquiry timing despite potential heat challenges because coastal venues benefit from refreshing sea breezes that inland locations can't match. Smart couples look for venues with climate-controlled backup options; an essential feature given South Carolina's sometimes unpredictable summer weather patterns that can shift from perfect to problematic quickly.
