A small studio in Union NJ with big plans! I have been a photographer for 6 years working as a freelancer. Learning on the field like back in the day is the best way to learn everything about photography. Starting a Zola is the first step to branch from a freelancer to a business owner / photographer. Im starting my own business for my baby, Xavier. Working at your wedding helps me be with my family longer.

I'll work with you financially, before your big day (engagement shoots), on your big day, and after ( photo editing). Not only do I provide the services needed to complete your vendor search but I also print your albums, cards, t-shirts and more so everything you need is in one place. This is a family business. We are LGBTQ+ friendly.

The Camera Died and So Did My Patience

Our experience with Malta Studios after our wedding was extremely disappointing due to ongoing issues with communication and professionalism. Messages and calls routinely went unanswered, often being marked as read during normal business hours, yet we still had to follow up multiple times just to receive a response. This lack of consistency became frustrating and stressful. When our photos were finally delivered, we did receive every image taken, which we appreciated. However, there was no curation or quality control at all. Many photos included closed eyes, poor angles, or unusable shots, images that a professional is typically expected to filter out. Sorting through hundreds of unreviewed photos was overwhelming and far from the polished experience we anticipated. The video delivery was even more concerning. We granted additional time due to a personal injury, but weeks later the final product arrived with the wrong bride’s name, no aerial view which I mentioned numerous times, and most heartbreaking of all, our children’s speech was cut short. When we requested corrections, we were informed the rest of the speech could not be recovered because the camera died, meaning an irreplaceable moment was lost forever. Although we were eventually given the raw footage at no extra charge and our remaining balance, which was not due until we received the last footage, was voided and the corrected video was sent, the damage had already been done. The repeated lack of attention to detail overshadowed any attempts to make things right, and I say weak attempts because we extended his delivery time and, although I specifically told him we would not be calling to follow up like every other time, my husband still had to reach out at 6 PM when we had heard nothing, just to confirm he would actually deliver what was promised. Adding to our frustration was the vendor’s reaction to the review submitted by our wedding coordinator. She wrote it under her own name after witnessing the stress and frustration this process caused me. Instead of responding professionally, he insinuated that I had written the review using another person’s name and even called me childish. He also included both my name and my husband’s name in his response, surprisingly getting my name correct but not my husband’s. He has since gone back and edited his response to appear more polished yet still chose to leave false information claiming we owe him payment for three additional hours of work. Technically, if anyone is owed anything here, it is us, because he will never be able to provide the full footage of our children’s speech, which is exactly what he was paid to capture. This behavior was inappropriate, unprofessional, and further validated the communication issues and lack of professionalism we experienced from the start. The ongoing communication problems, preventable mistakes, lack of accountability, and now unprofessional public behavior caused unnecessary stress during a time that should have been joyful. Couples deserve reliability, care, and respect when trusting a vendor with memories that cannot be recreated. Unfortunately, we did not receive that, and we cannot recommend this vendor. Hi, as someone who has to handle multiple clients on a daily bases I try my best to respond when I have new news to give. But what I can't do is respond to calls on the road, at a wedding, in meeting or when I'm spending time with my family. As for the project itself in the contract it clearly states that we have 3 to 6 months to complete all of your work. What I have always said to every customer is that "IF we are not to busy we CAN get your pictures done in 2 weeks and video in 2 to 3 months". Also in the contract we also offer 2 free re edits which you have refused. Your last month is in January. So please, explain how you "extended my time" if before you sent me the deposit you had to check off in a check box that you understood the agreement before making the deposit. So if you did read it then you knew that my final due date is January. For your friend, she was not your coordinator from the venue she has said it in her own words in the venues review. And yes it is childish for you and her to write that when it's not true as far as I know. For her to right a review of services she hasn't personally paid for or had from us, her review doesn't reflect an actual customer experience. Also, yes, I'm allowed to defend myself in those types of reviews. You don't have to screen shoot it I reposted it to her directly. So in all, if you want me to correct the pictures and video you have till January 15th. But for the future when hiring someone, yes it's there job to be professional, but at the same time as a customer it's your job to have civility starting with reading the contract that you're signing.

Starting from the meeting they sounded like they knew what they were doing, they asked practically all the questions and even questions I should have brought up with the venue. What sold me was the payment plan. They didn't have to but they gave me a payment plan but when I was switching between jobs they didn't charge me any late fees and even changed the plan to make sure I took care of the family first by lowering the monthly payments. The big day: They came an hour early, but we were 30 minutes behind. They knew how to improvise. They were helpful all the way through. After big day: They said if it's not to busy they can get everything done in about 2 months but I usually just go by the contract. But ya they got everything done within a proper timeline. Pictures and video looks great and now I asked for a wedding album and thank you cards.

We hired Malta Studio in 2024 for our wedding for photography and videography. We couldn’t be happier. From the first meeting to the final video delivery, everything was handled with professionalism and creativity. We had issues with the first version and the second but they listened to our issues, fixed it and got the final video to us. We’ve gotten so many compliments from family and friends about how amazing our wedding video looks. Thank you, Davide and Malta Studio!

We hired Malta studio after reviewing their work online, and after speaking with the owner, Davide over the phone. Davide was very friendly and put us at ease about our big day, and was willing to work with us given our events were split across two separate dates. Unfortunately, the quality of the work we received was very poor. Davide was not our videographer on either date - this was not communicated with us. Nelson was our videographer for the ceremony, and Cedric from "Drawlines" was our videographer for the reception. It appears there may be crossover between Drawlines and Malta studio, and that Nelson and Davide are related. The ceremony video turned out ok. There are some areas where the camera is shaky, and one moment where the camera is dropped. Overall, it is a linear view of the full ceremony as we requested. Nelson was very kind to work with, and we were looking forward to seeing him at the reception. The reception video is just plain bad. I'm not sure how it made the first cut of being sent to us. It looks like it was haphazardly edited to meet a deadline after I had been calling and emailing requesting status. There was audio missing, footage missing (this was blamed on a camera being dropped at the reception) there are awkward zoom ins at key moments, the camera is shaky and blurry at times, and you can see the videographer and his 2nd camera in shots. We were also missing drone footage that had been included in the package. I wrote to Davide with my concerns, he said he would review the editing again. He stated he ended up going back to our venue to take drone footage, but shot the wrong venue. He added some of the missing footage, but we still don't have footage from the entire evening. The audio is now overlapping and out of sync. It took me a while to circle back with Davide on my 2nd round of concerns, and I lack the confidence at this point that the correct edits will be made, which is very frustrating. The edits I am asking for are ones I should not have even had to request...basics that should have been reviewed before the video was even sent out to me. I wanted to put this review out as a word of caution to other brides. The price point is certainly appealing, but be wary of the quality and response time from the owner.
