Located one mile from the harbor in picturesque Stonington Borough, The Hounds is a stunning, coastal, event venue with immaculate landscaping that abuts the Avalonia Paffard Marsh preserve. The inside spaces have a low-key nautical decor, custom, in-house made lighting, double-side bar with mahogany and cherry bar tops, and floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that let the beauty of the surroundings be enjoyed from every seat in the room. The Hounds is the ideal place for weddings, galas, corporate events and parties. This New England weather-proof property is open year round.

With new floors, sliding glass doors, nautical light fixtures and full-size bar, The Hounds offers the perfect casual but upscale New England vibe for your next celebration, meeting - or big day.
Surrounded on three sides by the Avalonia Nature Preserve, The Hounds has stunning views of salt water marshes, a tidal creek and a forested hillside. This protected area is abundant with wildlife including ospreys, blue herons, egrets and deer.The Hounds Interior features custom nautical lighting made in-house; a large double-sided bar with stunning mahogany and cherry bar-tops; a new floor; and large sliding glass doors grace the back of the building providing stunning views of the patio, lawn and nature preserve. Parties of up to 250 can be accommodated for sit down meals.

Perfect coastal New England venue
The Hounds was the perfect location to host our end of September wedding. From the bridal suite and groom's room, the reception room and bar, to the outside terrace, and gorgeous ceremony lawns surrounded by the nature preserve, everything was amazing. We loved how the coastal elements were lightly sprinkled in around the property. The owners, Gleanna and Clay were so nice and they have truly done an amazing renovation on the entire space. All of our guests commented on how beautiful and intimate the venue was and how convenient it was having everything in one place. Linda, the event manager, was also so helpful throughout the entire planning process and was very responsive to all my little questions. Thank you all again for making our special day so amazing!
Beautiful venue
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful wedding day at The Hounds! The venue provided the perfect blend of charm and elegance, with the ceremony set against a stunning marsh backdrop—it was absolutely breathtaking. The nautical decor added a unique and cozy touch, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings. Inside, the venue's hardwood floors added warmth and sophistication, while the bridal suite and groomsmen lounge were both comfortable and well-appointed, giving us a relaxing space to get ready. We felt so cared for, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how lovely everything was. Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a picturesque, memorable wedding day!
Our wedding was perfect
The Hounds was the perfect wedding venue for our special day. From the moment we first reached out, the team was incredibly attentive, helpful, and enthusiastic in assisting us with every detail. Their beautiful, open space had a wonderful nautical, New Englandy feel that was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding. They were so accommodating and provided so much support and guidance throughout the planning process - making the entire experience easy and stress-free. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to work with, and we're so grateful to The Hounds for helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. We used all of their recommended vendors who were also wonderful!
