Terrapin Hill Farm is the perfect venue for couples who want a relaxed and enjoyable wedding in a beautiful, rustic, and natural setting. The Chapel is breathtaking, the Farmhouse provides dressing rooms and overnight accommodations, and the Pavilion is the perfect place to celebrate with dining, dancing and a nearby bonfire. The farm is easy to get to and centrally located between Lexington and Louisville. With over 18 years of experience, owners Pete and Brenda Cashel provide personalized service to ensure that your planning process is effortless and your wedding day runs smoothly. They offer everything you need for any event, from a small celebration to a destination wedding with all your family and friends. The Chapel - Ceremony Site
One-of-a-kind ceremony space
This beautiful stage was handbuilt from cedar trees harvested from the woods nearby. Its rugged and majestic beauty is a unique setting for your ceremony. The open back lets the surrounding trees show through for a beautiful decor only nature can provide. It's just a short walk from the pavilion and parking area. The stage area has electricity and is large enough for a full band for evening entertainment. We provide handmade wooden benches, or choose straw bales for a rustic touch.

Gorgeous Panoramic View of the Countryside
The turtle shell-shaped hill behind the farmhouse (which gives the farm it's name) has an amazing view of the countryside in every direction. Just a short walk up from the pavilion, it's also accessible by vehicle if necessary. You'll feel like you're on top of the world when you say your I-do's here!

The Pavilion - Reception
Simple yet Elegant
The 40'x60' pavilion can hold up to 150 people for a sit-down dinner, plus room for dancing. The twinkly lights and chandelier provide the ambiance, and you can add any decorations you'd like. Your band or DJ can set up on a stage that can be adjusted for the size you need. Accessible restrooms and plenty of space for parking are close by. Kids of all ages enjoy the nearby playground and there's a bonfire pit just below the pavilion for after-dark fun. (Serves as ceremony site in case or rain)

Have both your ceremony and reception at the farm, with the option to add on extra time such as day before, day after, or overnights. You can also choose the services you want (e.g. officiant, day-of- coordinator, etc.) Available any day of the week; 20% discount given for Monday - Thursday weddings. Overnight packages include accommodations for up to 23 people plus RV and tent camping.

A Micro-Wedding is something in between an elopement and the traditional wedding. If you are looking for something more intimate, simple, and affordable, this may be the package for you. Available Sunday - Thursday. Up to 30 guests included, up to 20 more may be added on for $30/guest.

The Venue of our Dreams.
When we were choosing our wedding venue, we weren't sure we would ever find something that fit our vision. We wanted something intimate, laid back, with a ceremony focused on love. Up until we found Brenda and Pete, we thought that we would have to settle for a venue that felt disingenuous to us, with a ceremony that didn't reflect our values. When we discovered Terrapin Hill through a Google search, we knew we had to reach out. Scheduling a tour with Brenda was so easy, and she made us feel so at-ease with our decision. Once paperwork was complete, Brenda and Pete made the planning process SO easy, and we couldn't have been more grateful to them for all their guidance and help leading up to the day of. While communicating with Brenda, she even agreed to let both my mother and my mother-in-law into the venue half an hour early to set up decorations. We were married on May 15, 2025 at the Chapel, surrounded by our closest family and friends. Pete assisted us from the start to the end of the day, and was always nearby just in case. We were pleasantly surprised when Pete pulled up in his classic car and offered for it to be part of our ceremony, too! He drove my father and I up to our ceremony location, and then drove myself, my husband, and our photographer to our private vow location afterwards. Everything was absolutely stunning, and he helped the day run extra smoothly! We chose Terrapin Hill Farm based on the beauty of their location, the core values they reflect, their ceremony style, and the different packages they offer. Their excellent customer service and communication is just the cherry on top! We are so thankful to both Pete and Brenda for sharing their space with us, making us feel at-home, and giving us the perfect day to celebrate our love. We recommend Terrapin Hill Farm to any couples who are searching for their dream venue!
The perfect venue!!
An incredible weekend at the most gorgeous venue!! The ceremony spot was beautiful, with panoramic views of the Kentucky landscape. The reception area in the pavilion was perfect and big enough for all the tables, dance floor, and stage for live entertainment! We absolutely LOVED being able to stay on sight in the farm house and cottages the day before and night of- relieved so much stress of not having to drive around the day of. Brenda and Pete were great hosts, and offered just about anything we could need! There’s so much more I could say. 1000/10 would recommend working with them, and having your special day at this special spot!
Woodland fairytale wedding of my dreams
From the moment we first contacted Terrapin Hill Farm, we were impressed by the personal, attentive, and thoughtful communication from Brenda and Pete. Their rustic, charming, and awe-inspiring venue created a magical setting for our wedding day. Brenda went above and beyond to organize everyone and make the day breeze by, while Pete was so on top of his duties as officiant, chauffeur, hay ride conductor, and bonfire master. It truly felt like we were being supported by friends and family every step of the way, and the weekend was more beautiful than we ever dreamed. You absolutely will not regret using terrapin as your wedding venue!

Terrapin Hill Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. The communication was always prompt and easy, with text messages working well for us throughout the planning process. The venue itself offered plenty of space and a beautiful natural setting that made for an unforgettable celebration. The staff was incredibly helpful, assisting with set-up and even having Pete officiate our ceremony. They went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly, and we were thrilled with the wonderful experience we had at Terrapin Hill Farm.
