With water views and a seating capacity of 250, this majestic barn opens onto a one-acre grassy square surrounded by nine historic buildings and 500 acres of forests and farmlands. Farmhouse Square is perfect for an outdoor celebration.

This beautiful half acre grassy common, surrounded by nine historic buildings, is perfectly positioned with water views, Bandstand for live music, an outdoor bar, lawn games, an extensive outdoor patio with fire pits and Adirondack chairs. Our Venue Coordinator will work with you on tent rental coordination for the perfect wedding event preparation. Farmhouse Square, like all Retreat Farm wedding spaces, includes on-site parking and is an ADA accessible site.

    We held our wedding at Retreat Farm and it was absolutely perfect! From start to finish, this venue exceeded our expectations in every way. Our weekend began with a field day celebration the day before the wedding. Farmhouse Square was perfect for this, and the staff went above and beyond to help us organize food stations and arrange picnic tables. The staff made themselves available for the entire day and were friendly to our guests which helped set the tone for the entire weekend. Working with Samantha, the venue coordinator, made the planning process so much easier. She was incredibly communicative and patiently answered about a million questions from us. We were one of their Retreat Farm’s first weddings, so there were a few minor administrative hiccups along the way, but I have complete confidence these will be smoothed out for future couples. Samantha’s responsiveness and helpfulness were invaluable. On our wedding day, rain was in the forecast which was very stressful for us leading up to the ceremony which was slated to be held outdoors. We prepared to hold the ceremony inside the barn, which would have been beautiful in its own right, but then, the rain ended up clearing at the last second. Thankfully, the incredible staff had already set up the chairs and arch and managed to move everything back outside within half an hour (literally wiping down every single chair as fast as they could). We ended up with the most breathtaking outdoor ceremony as the clouds parted and the sun literally shone down on us. It was pure magic, and the staff's quick work made it possible. Additionally, the venue's beautiful outdoor spaces provided awesome backdrops for photos so we’re glad we were able to take advantage of them. One of the most unique and memorable aspects of Retreat Farm is the farm animals. We surprised our guests with a surprise donkey ring bearer (that the barn manager, Felipe, took the time to practice walking the aisle with), and during cocktail hour, the open barn allowed guests to interact closely with all the animals. This was hands-down one of the highlights that our guests are still talking about—the pictures that we saw everyone take were priceless. Every single person who works at Retreat Farm was exceptionally kind and professional. From the bartenders who handled the bar service beautifully (and even accommodated our requests for specific drinks on the menu) to the staff directing guests and everyone in between—the team made us feel so well taken care of. It's worth noting that this is more of a DIY venue where you bring your own decorations and coordinate most vendors. We loved this because it allowed us to truly make the wedding our own and put our personal stamp on every detail but recognize that this may not be for everyone. We highly recommend Retreat Farm for couples looking for a unique, beautiful, and flexible venue with character, charm, and the most wonderful staff (and also animals!)

    Retreat Farm was an incredible venue for our wedding day. The communication with the venue coordinator was really professional and clear throughout the entire planning process. The newly built barn has beautiful natural lighting that created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. We got married in May and the farm was the perfect backdrop, with the beautiful blooming flowers and even one of the farm goats serving as our ring bearer! This is just an incredible venue, and I can't recommend it strongly enough for anyone looking for the perfect spot for a Vermont wedding.

    We had the privilege of being the first wedding at Retreat Farm and they knocked it out of the park. The venue itself was gorgeous and the scenery was absolutely perfect for our fall wedding. The new barn was beautifully done and spacious enough for all of our guests. Sam and Jen were the dream team when it came to preparing for the day in advance and for taking the stress off my shoulders the day of. I went into my day prepared to be bombarded with questions and stressed with scheduling but Sam and Jen handled everything for us. I cannot express for grateful I am to have found this wonderful venue and for the support and positivity that came from the staff. Also huge shoutout to Pete the bartender everyone loved you!! If you’re looking for a beautiful spot to get married or have any event look no further. Thank you guys for everything you did to make our special day even more special!

    I have been working with The Retreat Farm since before the North Barn officially opened, and have been so excited to start designing in the space. The remodel of this historic barn is stunning! You get the rustic feel, but it is still bright and open. The ceremony space is conveniently located right outside of the barn, with a cute little seating area which is perfect for cocktail hour. The space has a really nice flow. On top of that, my experience working with the Retreat Farm staff has been a joy. They are communicative and easy to work with. From what I have seen, they have already showed that they will go above and beyond for the couples getting married there. I look forward to all of the weddings we will work together on next season!
