Picture a beautiful service in the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel, Gourley Island Garden, Fountain Garden, or the Conifer Garden. Each of these spaces offers unique features such as beautiful architecture, vast amounts of florals, and sweeping lake views. For the reception, you can choose to celebrate in the contemporary open-air Missouri Barn, the elegant Grand Hall at the Visitors Center, the Conservatory, the Conifer Room, or the Fountain Garden. No matter your selection for each part of your wedding, you can be sure that the space is exclusively yours for use.

Wedding in the Island Garden
We had an unforgettable wedding at the Island Garden at Powell Gardens (more specifically, the sunken garden right off of the lily pond). Destiny and her crew set everything up for us, and Destiny gave golf cart rides to our guests back and forth between the Good Earth Spot building (where the ready room & parking lot were) and the actual ceremony site- quite a walk, and we had a few guests with mobility issues, not to mention refreshments to cart back and forth! Powell Gardens is just GORGEOUS- most folks get married at the chapel and I understand why- it is stunning. But if you have a small wedding like us (28 of us total), consider the Island Garden. We enjoyed feeding the carnivorous plants before the ceremony started. :) And the lily pond was just lovely. It was a perfect day, and there are so many spots to do First Looks (in the woods/on the bridges) and photos (backdrop of native wild flowers). The staff is super on top of it!! We just had the best day. We did not do our reception here, FYI. I'm sure it would have been lovely though!
Amazing Venue Staff
Powell Gardens, Kansas City's Botanical Garden, was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From our first interactions, the staff was friendly, efficient, and incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail was taken care of. On the day of, Destiny and Sarah provided excellent day-of coordination, beautifully decorating our ceremony and reception spaces and keeping our event timeline running smoothly. The elegant, relaxing, and breathtaking botanical gardens provided the most stunning backdrop for our special day. We could not have asked for a more valuable and high-quality experience. Our guests were in awe of the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, and we felt completely at ease knowing the Powell Gardens team had everything under control. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for an unforgettable wedding day.
