Mess Hall is a modern wedding venue located in the heart of Washington, D.C. The only private event space in DC that looks into an open industrial kitchen, Mess Hall provides an urban and inviting atmosphere that your guests won’t soon forget. Our Great Room, adorned with reclaimed wood shelves and sliding barn doors, is a blank canvas that is ideal for weddings, private parties, networking events, book signings, filmings, pop-up restaurants, and everything in between. The adjacent Tile Room is available for overflow seating or a satellite bar. Occupancy for Great Room AND Tile Room: 175

A Wedding Planner’s Dream
Al and the team have truly worked to make Mess Hall a special gem for weddings and events in the DC area. I’ve worked with them as a wedding coordinator, and they made the process an absolute dream. From clear communication, quick problem solving, and friendly attitudes, they really made everyone, from guests, to vendors, to - of course - the couple, feel so well taken care of. I look forward to working with Al and the whole team at Mess Hall many more times down the road!
10/10 Experience at Mess Hall
We held our wedding at Mess Hall in October 2024 and couldn't be happier with how things went. From the very beginning, working with Al, the owner, was a dream. He's incredibly responsive and thoughtful and helped us think through a vision for the evening. He had great recommendations for food and drink that felt personal to our taste as a couple. His ability to think big-picture AND attend to the smallest details made for an incredibly smooth planning process and sensational wedding day. Our guests loved the industrial vibe of the garage bay and the farmhouse/tavern feel of the interior rooms - the best of both worlds! When speeches went long during dinner, Al worked with us in the moment to adjust our timeline so we could maximize time on the dance floor. Al doesn't miss a beat. We wholeheartedly recommend Mess Hall for your next big event!

Mess Hall was a dream venue for our reception! From start to finish (pre-planning to the wedding day), the team was friendly, accommodating, and communicative. Being in the wedding industry myself, I also loved how open and honest they were about options and cost. I’d recommend this space to anyone getting married in the DC area. The space itself is also super cool and made for some great wedding photos. If you get to work with Al, you’re in good hands. We have nothing but positive things to say about this space and this team. Book them :)
A Unique Venue with Great Service
I can't recommend Mess Hall enough as a wedding venue! As soon as we reached out, Al was incredibly responsive and helpful. He made the planning process much smoother by always being available to answer questions and give suggestions. His professionalism and attention to detail ensured that everything went off without a hitch. Additionally, because it is also a food incubator, he was able to make excellent suggestions for catering. The venue itself is a gem—unique, versatile, and full of character. The space allowed us to get creative, and we were given carte blanche to design a wedding that truly reflected our vision. We couldn't have been happier with how it all came together.
